He leads the league in Assist-to-Turnover ratio (14-2) and is 2nd in Steals-to-Turnovers (10-2). I think we should consider him as a replacement for Andre Miller in the starting lineup. http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2010/10/golden_state_100_portland_78_d.html
I would love it if Nate would go big. I have been screaming for it for years. Sure it causes mismatches. But it causes mismatches both ways. Considering that Rudy does a much better job at guarding PG than SG, it makes sense in many ways. The problem is, will Nate let Rudy handle the rock part of the time, which is the same problem he has with Miller.
According to Doug Steele's proto-PER rating (Tendex - he's been using it for over a decade), Rudy's the best SG in the league.
Time to start the Play Maker vs Point Guard debate again. Rudy is a play maker and a better one than people give him credit for but he would suck as a point guard. Not fast enough and not a good enough ball handler.
As long as he keeps hitting shots at the rate he's been this pre-season, I don't care who he does it against (starters, backups, backups of backups).
1 pre season game left and we wanna insert rudy or matthews in starting 5. lovely. its just pre season though
He's doin it! That's all that matters! If Bayless averaged 45 points a game this year against only bench guys, do you think it wouldn't count?
In efficiency per 48, Rudy is 41st (21st among those with at least 20 minutes per game). Our second best is Aldridge at 49th (27th). http://www.nba.com/statistics/playe...ied=Y&yearsExp=-1&sortOrder=7&splitDD=Default He did start one game.
Rudy is without a doubt our most complete guard by a mile, or as they say in Spain, by 1.609344 Kilometers. This team would be much stronger and win more games with him starting and Roy coming off the bench where he could dominate the ball without hampering our flow so much.
I know for a fact that Brandon and LA do not check out forums like this, but I am going to print out the threads from these last couple games and show him! This shit is .............. ???????
You're on the right track with Rudy starting, but you're forgetting one important detail. In order for this offense to reach it's potential, not only does it need Rudy starting, it needs Sergio right there along with him. In the event the Blazers can't convince Sergio to be their starter, then, and only then, should they go and trade for CP3.....but absolutely not before Sergio has turned them down 4-5 times.
Just to say out loud what the right column of your link shows --The preseason ranks per 48 minutes are-- Rudy is #1 among SGs and #8 among all players. Jarrett Jack is #1 among PGs, so he's having a hot preseason too.
I've never seen better evidence proving this statement, "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damn lies and statistics"
All (funny) jokes aside, I think we should keep Roy in the starting unit and start Rudy as the other guard. I think that's also what Roy wants.
