If you ever lived in NYC - you know he is damn right! I believe I paid $1200/mo for a 1 bedroom apt. with a kitchen that could hold one person and 1 pan in Brooklyn Heights (not even in Manhattan) in 1994. Damn, that was ex-wait for it-pensive.
So, this guy made an arrangement with his landlord in which he received his rent in exchange for maintenance work, and he did this without help from social services or a government agency? Hell, I'd vote for him.
I just like the fact he wears black gloves inside and manages to slip in the non-sequitor that he knows karate.

I edited a couple of posts to embed the youtube videos. You can do it yourself. See the little filmstrip button over the textbox in the Quick Reply? Click on it and paste in the youtube URL. Anyhow, the guy hasn't paid rent since 1980 apparently. He fell behind on it and his landlord made a deal with him - free rent for handyman work.
I saw this on TV, finally someone that speaks for the people. He won't win, but it's nice to see someone representing the common man in that state.
