Seemingly? Any way of actually knowing our interest level, really?

Yeah, I was really hoping we'd target Collison too. I'd have even given up Batum for him (especially now that Matthews seems legit), and I really like Batum. Oh well.

You have to remember that for all the guy's flaws, Miller was our best player in a number of games last year, especially when Roy went down. He's not ideal, but among NBA starting point guards he's at least average.

It's been a decade since Portland even had an average-quality starting PG. So although I don't think I overvalue him, I appreciate what we've got.

Maybe but I invite you to think back about the timing of it all. Is it possible that the reason they were not interested in Collison, is because they thought they were going to land Chris Paul? It seems to me that the timing of all the events was very close, and it makes no sense to be talking to a team to trade for Chris Paul and then talking to them at the same time about trading for Collison. It seems to me that Portland went for the big fish and he got off the hook. Then they tried to catch that big fish again later, and again failed. My guess is, that if they didn't quit fishing then, they won't stop fishing now.

I agree with this. I hear what Hasoos is saying, but I'm sure Collison came up at some point during discussions, and I wish the Blazers would have understood that Paul was off the table and changed gears to get Collison.

I guess it all depends on what you believe out of the articles we read about the trades that almost went down. Because if all is to be believed, the team that shot down the trade that would have netted us Chris Paul, was Denver, not New Orleans. So that being said, if that was true, it makes no sense that the Blazers have ever been told he is unobtainable, and it makes sense that they have made repeated attempts to get him here. They know now they can get him here. They just need to find the right deal to make it happen before somebody else does.

Hey, if Cho actually thinks it's do-able, that's great. I'm just not so sure.

Problem is, Miller doesn't really play like a PG anymore. He just dominates the ball and tries to score on his own. Witness his 52 point game. How many games did he have 15+ assists? Exactly.

I just researched my own question. He had 16 assts in a game. Outside that, he only had back to back games of 10+ assists ONCE all season.

How many point guards put up 15 assist games last year? How many put up 12 assist games last year?

His overall numbers last year were close to his career averages. Projected out to 36 min, his FGA rate was up to 13.1 compared to a career av. of 12.1, which isn't indicative of some major switch in his style of play. Last year Steve Nash's FGA rate was up to 13.5 shots per 36 over his career av. of 12.5... is he still playing like a PG?

Miller is the best option running the Blazer point since PIP, though thats not really saying much. Without being an outside threat he's obviously not the perfect fit beside Brandon, but the team was very effective with that pair in the 2nd half of the season. He's obviously not the longterm solution but he's smart, capable and extremely durable. Reports are he's in tremendous shape going into the season... if he's the weakest starting link I like the team's chances.

How many games did he have with 15+ shots (not including FTs)? 18

If I'm not mistaken Brandon was injured and not playing in the Dallas game.

    Brilliant. No argument just nonsense.

Probably because you know he's correct in his assessment of this sinking ship.

Just call him a troll close your eyes, plug your ears and go "NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA" and we'll win a championship.

Brandon missed a few of the games where Miller put up 15+ shots. Besides, as a PG SHOULD do, I think a lot of Miller's shots was recognizing what the team needed at the moment, and giving his best effort to do just that. We would struggle on offense at times, and if that is happening, I want a PG out there who will try to do what the team needs. Whether it's a bucket for himself or others. A stand outside type guy like Blake can't do that.

Anytime someone criticizes the club, no matter how detailed or how stupid they're been labeled a troll.

That was the only point I was making. It's a dicks way out. The poster can't address the issue so he takes the low road of "name calling."

You should take note of what your fella Brian from WA wrote.

Calling BGrantFan "Papa G" is not a take. It's just lazy and says more about you than him. It's just stupid and useless. Calling me Papa G's big brother is even more absurd

Why even bother? I thought you were a mod.

You are correct. Miller carried us through Dallas. Bayless carried us through San Antonio. You remember, the day Bayless was declared new leader of the free world for a day in Portland? :NOTMARIS:
