"Perhaps it's an indication of the life — and the fight — the Maple Leafs have, but they were angrier over their first loss of the season Monday night than they were at any point last season. And, of course, they had plenty of opportunities to stew last year. John Tavares's overtime power-play goal lifted the New York Islanders to a 2-1 win, handing the Leafs their first setback of 2010-11 after four victories to start the season. And even though they can still brag that they're undefeated in regulation, they were steaming about referee calls and non-calls and they way the puck just didn't bounce their way. "I thought we played a very good game and in some instances we didn't have any puck luck, and a couple of calls went completely against us," said head coach Ron Wilson. It seemed like one of those games where, no matter what, your team was just not going to be allowed to win the game, but I liked that they had some fight in them, despite the... questionable events that occurred throughout the contest. Words like "heart" and "grit" are starting to force their way back into discussion when it comes to the Leafs. Go Leafs Go!!! (the sig says the rest)
