Their QB Newton is insane. Guy is 6'6, all muscle..... LSU defenders are bouncing off of him like he's Terrell Owens. I really don't know how the Ducks would stop that guy if they ended up playing him.

LSU is looking very pedestrian compared to Auburn.

Our secondary is so quick that a great running quarterback doesn't really give us as much of a fit as it would other teams. Thats what makes our defense different. If you want to run it up the middle and play smashmouth football and you have the personnel to do so, you might have a game plan to beat us. But, you won't out quick/athlete the Ducks defense.

Man.... I don't know. Regardless, UO/Auburn would be a REALLY good game. I think it would be a lot of fun to watch. I bet if Newton goes to the NFL, they try to make him into a WR. Over 200 yards rushing today though.

I think he could possibly play QB in the NFL. He reminds me a lot of Vince Young, maybe more impressive, if you take away that national title game. Newton's pocket presence sucks though. I would like to see that game and see Allioti blitz the shit out of him.

He really doesn't throw much. Could stack up against the run and just contain him.

He reminds me of early Culpepper, because of his size and athleticism

But Newton is SOOOOO slow. It's like watching a fullback out there rumbling around.

I agree that they could run the ball on Oregon (much like UCLA did in just sticking to a good running game). But also like the UCLA game, Auburn's defense looked very medoicre against LSU's slow backs. If Oregon played Auburn, they would score every drive like they did against UCLA and have 28 pts by early in the 2nd quarter and Auburn and a lumbering Newton would be done with by then. So they would be a horrible match-up against the Ducks after watching them today.

I was thinking that too when I was watching that game.

Cam Newton is crazy good. But he's the shining star on the otherwise mediocre Auburn offense.

The Ducks would hang 50+ on either of those teams.

Auburn's D linemen are pretty big and scary. How do you think our boys would hang with them?

Count me in as a person who is still not sold on Auburn. There is no way they beat Alabama in the Iron bowl.

Big and Scary is what Stanford's D-Line is. And at the pace the Ducks play, by the second half they were done. Defensive Lines don't condition to the pace that the Duck offense plays. And that's why, although Auburn would probably jump to the early lead as Stanford did, the Ducks would just rape them in the 2nd half and win going away.

I'm still hoping we get to the NC and play Alabama. I think that game would be crazy good, and I think the ratings would be out of this world.

I think there's a very good chance this match up will happen.

honestly the only thing that could POSSIBLY make winning a NC sweeter... would be to kick the crap out of a big bad SEC team while doing so.

I feel the same way. They look big, but lethargic. I think they train on melted butter.

Frankly, the only SEC team that can play with us is Alabama. They're very strong and have the top power running game in the nation.
