Btw, funny you say this because these are the exact words I say after reading your trade proposal threads.

But the difference is, you're high when you read his posts, so of course they seem odd to you.

To his credit, he never bitched his feelings to the media.

I wish he could have had more freedom to do his thing here. But Nate was hellbent on turning him into something that he isn't.

I think this is slightly wrong. Nate was hellbent on keeping him off the floor unless he could play defense or run the point. Jerryd tried to do his best to become something he wasn't and unfortunately it never worked out for him (or the team). I hope has happier times in New Orleans.

I'm happy about the trade. Bayless wasn't going to get the minutes he wanted thus his value was going to drop. How many times have we complained the Blazers hang on to players to long and don't get good value back. I think it'd be foolish to hang on to him if he wasn't going to get playing time. Nothing against Bayless and I wish him well but he was never going to be more than a change of tempo combo guard. I'm happy with the draft pick and sure Cho has another move up his sleeve in the very near future.

Funny John Lund (from 95.5 the game) use to cover Utah some and he said he use to love when Bayless came into the game and not because he liked Bayless. He thought Bayless was extremely inconsistent. I realize Lund is not expert but funny to hear another teams view.

You're right. I proposed actually getting something more than a pick for Bayless. Clearly I overvalued him.

I'm on board with that. We can't really tell yet, but my impression from pre-season was that rather than Armon, it is Wes who will take P-time from JB. If we waited to trade him later in the season when he was playing maybe 10 minutes every other game or every third game what was his trade value then? I understand the idea that he might have had more value in a combo trade, but it doesn't look like we had that option open to us. Working with imperfect info I'm comfortable with this and whether it's a good or bad deal won't be completely clear until the end of the season.

the ONLY way I see this maybe being ok... is with it being a few years down the road deal. Like Utah had with NY.

He only showed one consistent skill, which was getting to the line. He didn't finish well, he didn't defend well, he didn't pass well and he certainly didn't shoot well. I also didn't see that much potential for improvement in those areas. It's just my opinion though. Probably every sports fan is guilty of being a homer at some point, I know I have. I don't mean it as an insult.

He was also one of the only guys who brought the effort during the playoffs. Is everyone forgetting about that?
