    There is nothing to discuss. The man is a jokester, its all to make some $$$. His comment, outside of the soccer mom part, is pretty true.

    Actually, more than anything, I'm amused by the spot Blazer fans occupy in his world. And honestly, it makes me a little proud to be part of a group that is considered as rabid as any other.

    I'll give you the Oden vs Durant comment... but I dont honestly believe there is one sane poster on this board who feels Wes was a bigger signing than Lebron. And that Roy is close to MJ. At least I hope not.

    The guy went to literally ever Celtic game for 15 years while growing up, with 6th row seats, and he wrote a 700-page book solely about the NBA which is the most informative book on the NBA, at least in terms of knowledge, that I have read. While he may be a smarmy, acerbic writer, I think he knows more about the NBA, and its brand of basketball, than 99% of the posters on this board, myself included in that 99%.

    Critique his writing style, but I can't take any criticism of Simmons' NBA basketball IQ seriously unless that poster is also ready to dissect and attack The Book of Basketball.

    Read the book, and loved it. Don't like some of........errrrr....... a lot of his opinions, but he does know the game!

    Yeah, in a book that big, or in columns he writes, the odds are that nobody will agree with him most, or even a little bit, of the time. That said, I knew a lot more about the NBA after reading that book than before I bought it, Simmons' opinions aside.
