about $10-15 an hour for an illegal. For someone not illegal, its probably $25 or so.

It's why my master plan is to move to Bismark. No bad there, except that it has nothing appealing

that Gloria Allred presser was funny as fuck. she took out these poster sized prints and read the shit, looked really pedestrian. she's grasping at straws here. this is the main issue now, deflected the economy and jobs creation nicely. now its all about illegals. the thing is most of the radio and online reaction want to vote for Meg more b/c of this now. too much bad shit with the illegal.

As an ex-Californian, it seems to me that the state tried the outsider-with-a-vision route with Schwarzenegger and look what it got them. What the state needs is someone who understands how government works and how to make government work. Someone who has made government their profession.

    That's Jerry Brown.

If a corporation were on the verge of bankruptcy, I hardly think they would bring in an outsider, a professional non-businessperson because they have an"outsiders perspective." That only takes you so far. Skills and experience are more important.

Schwarznegger tried to deal with California's budget, and was smacked down by the Democratic majority in the Legislature. At that point he just gave up. Also, I wouldn't have picked a bodybuilder to run a large organization. Meg Whitman even without E-Bay has a hell of a resume, from P&G to Bain to Disney--these are some of the best management training grounds there are.

In a way, I really hope Brown wins. California is going down the toilet and I think Jerry Brown helped flush it. He should preside over its collapse so he can take some responsibility.

If its one thing that I appreciate from Schwartzy, its his fighting with the california democrats about the budget. It just got passed, if you gave those guys free reign this state would be further and further down the hole. If anything, he should have been more forceful.

I think Arnold has done a fine job, given the circumstances he inherited. Realize the state was spending 2x what it brought in after the various bubbles started bursting, and was in the midst of the Enron and govt. made energy crisis.

He's had to slash budgets, which is what needed to be done. But he didn't do it all at once, causing serious pain for everyone.

The downside is California's economy is in the shitter, but I don't find it his problem. The presidents who made things good for California's economy did extremely well (Reagan, Clinton). California's been treated like the bastard step child since Clinton.

Do you think Green Energy is the path to salvation? This state will be so fucked (more than it is now if that's possible) if Brown wins and prop 23 fails. I don't think Brown is that bad per se, he'll just waste a lot of time chasing green energy jobs by throwing money at it.

also if prop 25 (50% instead of 2/3s to pass a budget) passes, we'll be doubly extra fucked.

Green Energy is a black hole for money. I don't think it's a good idea for govt. to be subsidizing it when it can't balance its books.

That's Brown's recovery plan. Green energy jobs. Since they are unsustainable on their own for quite a while, of course you'll have to subsidize.

Green energy jobs would have been fine with the $800B stimulus money, but with an end to the funding after 5 years or something.

Otherwise, politicians basically say things to get elected and do other things when they have to face the reality of governing.

    Bump!

How many young people are being fooled by a commercial that told you what you wanted to hear.

The proof is out there, but Jerry doesn't want to give the private sector a chance to try in his own life.

39 years on the state dole. How any "independent" could vote for this guy baffles my brain.
