No, I am pretty sure we have not sucked for quite some time now. The funny thing is, even if we are great you will never admit it...

What is wrong with some of you people?

Did anyone else post the links to the articles that MIXUM did?

If so, I'll merge it. If not, let's talk Blazers.

As I recall, and it was a VERY long time ago, the Blazers championship team didn't get off to a great start, Walton was injured part of the year, then they picked up momentum at the end of the season, "Red Hot 'n Rollin" and all of that, and Blazed a trail to the championship. (ok that was lame.) The Blazers need to be hot and healthy at the right time -- playoff time. Considering our current injury situation, I won't be worried if we were to come out of the gate slowly. But -- I'm optimistic still. This is a good team, dammit!! :)

I agree totally. We've had a lot of injuries and some pretty significant changes. We should get healthier and we should gel as games progress. I'm not putting too much stock in either preseason nor Canzano's opinions.

So by posting links that he then tries to spin to fit his negative point of view with the sole intent to bait people into arguments he gets you to be his *deleted*?

What value are YOU adding to the board? Have you posted any links--negative or otherwise--to basketball-related material recently?

I'm trying to think of anything that anyone who's attacked him today has brought to my fandom of the Blazers, and... I can't think of any.

Please help me out. Tell me how a bunch of complainers are better for people who want to talk about the Blazers than someone who posts links and (terrifically predictably) is negative about the team?

Do you want to answer the question that I posed to SPG? I'd be interested to see what value you think you brought here today.

Did you seriously just go there Ed? Do you know what that says to other posters, when you ask someone who doesn't purposely find negative articles, or skirt the rules, what "value" do they ad to the board?

Way to keep people interested in posting here.

Tell me how mixum is better for people than sly is, or I am, or any of the other people who are tired of his shtick?

Because if you're seriously asking what you just asked, it seems that you're inviting people to stop giving a shit about being here. Congrats, I guess.

I'm trying to think of what anything he's ever said on here that has brought to my "fandom of the Blazers" (or this board) and I can't think of any. If anything, people like him are the single biggest reason why message boards have the reputation they do.

tell me how he's better for the board than people who actually try to back up their arguments, don't only spin things negatively, don't seek out negative articles, don't hyperbole over everything and when they're gone the # of issues on the board drop significantly.

Go on, tell all of us how come you seem to think he's better for the board than those who are "complainers" (btw, I don't see how that's less of an attack than calling him out for trolling).

I've posted many links on this board but even if I haven't that shouldn't be the determination if I do or do not bring value to this board. You're the only person who has continually had issues with me on here. You have gone out of your way to delete my posts in the past without any reason or explanation. I have no idea why that is nor to I really care. I admit I've crossed the lines before but I've also been quick to apologize when I have. If you really think I'm a problem you have the power to do something about it.

Mixum posts to antagonize with his very myopic and negative points of view. He doesn't post to create a discussion about the Blazers. He posts to stir up a hornets next, to provoke a reaction.

I've discussed basketball. I actually respond when I'm discussing basketball, I bring facts. I don't wake up in the morning, put on my PJ's and think, "gee what can I do for the board today". I come here to discuss basketball, particularly the Blazers. If something is out there that hasn't been posted yet, I'll start a thread.

Your idea of whats good for the board is ridiculous.

    Can I answer?

There are a lot of fans on this forum. We do not always agree. Some love Miller, others are not impressed. Some love the fact that Bayless was traded, others are not. We discuss things. It's what we do, it's the purpose of this forum. The purpose is not to post links to articles - it's nice when it is done to further discussion of the topic at hand, but when it is done in order to annoy people and the "discussion" involves categorical name-calling of the fan base just to antagonize many of the participants - it's a way to "tweak the rules" - let's fact it, MIXUM is very clever at finding the ragged edge of staying "legal" while going out of his way to antagonize.

I for one think it's a shame that you choose to uphold the "law" instead of the "spirit of the law" - one is good for the court, the other should not be used in a place that is supposed to be a community site.

Quite frankly, I think you need to look a little higher than the fine print here, because sooner or later the purpose of the site gets lost in translation. There should be rules, I have no problems with that, but the rules make very little sense if they are systematically manipulated against the spirit of having a fan discussion site.

Redeeming quality of this post solely addressed at a poster?

    I don't find one.

I don't even know what you're talking about. I have "continually" had issues with you?

I glanced through the dozens of my sent PMs from the last year or two and I've not sent you one PM that I can see.

Are you getting me confused with someone else? Honestly.

And yet, there is intelligent discussion in almost every thread he starts. We just need to pick through the personal attacks that some people (who could easily ignore the threads he starts) can't help throwing out there.

Ha! This is rich. Ed O. is having another bad night. Ed, don't let us riff-raff get you down! Canzano and Quick are clowns, and everybody knows it!

I remember a poster in a different forum (not web based, but the old rec.sports groups) who would purposely post links to articles that would back his political affiliation. He was more conservative than the average poster there, but he at least admitted that he was trollin'. His links would be super conservative, and the titles to his threads were 100% done to antagonize the "lie-bruls" as he put it.

Everyone hated him, ridiculed him and pretty much started to ignore posts he made. It got to the point where he finally realized that acting like a petulant little shit pretty much got him on everyone's ignore list. It wasn't until he changed his ways and started to post strong and well thought out posts that people listened to him again. Over time, he became a popular(ish) poster/member again.

    And that persons name?

    Oliver North.

Actually, I don't remember his name (it was like 16+ years ago). But the point remains the same. It must be exhausting to carrying on like he does.

You understand what the phrase "in spite of" means, right?
