What about the years in Miami for Lamar? He still didnt play nearly as good as Marion. Stop making excuses. When you are the #2 option on a team like the Lakers, youre gonna get opportunities. Even more so when Lamar usually takes the ball up the court and assumes the pg role.

Also Lamar was in Miami for one year and he did a great job there, 17.1 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 4.1 APG. Shawn Marion? Again he has Nash's support and still he isn't that much better than Lamar. Marion gets more oppurtunities than Lamar does.
It seems like the main argument I hear for why Nash got the MVP is because Kobe has such a terrible supporting cast. Now I'm hearing an argument that Odom doesn't have as great of a star on his team to help him be great. Seems kinda contradictory to me.
Marion wins this. But, Odom did play very well in the playoffs. Because, Kobe had the sudden urge to actually involve his teammates more. And, that greatly added to their sucsess.

He gets plenty of opportunities, except he passes the ball to Kobe, because he is too afraid to try to score himself. Please dont use that argument again. Marion shoots a higher fg% than Lamar too..

Lamar Odom has never in any season on any team averaged above 17.2 ppg. Shawn Marion has averaged above that every year except his first (that's six years), with or without Nash.

Only a retard would think Odom is the better scorer.

Every GM in the league would rather have Shawn Marion over Lamar Odom....Odom is inconsistant and Marion gives it 100% whenever he plays.

Do you think Nash helps Shawn bang inside? Thats how he gets most of his points, and by using his athleticism to dunk the ball or get a lay up.
All i see is Laker fans trying to defend Lamar Odom. Please, if Lamar Odom was better then Marion wouldn't he have been an all-star then? Wouldn't the Lakers have beat the Suns. Instead of losing 3 straight. Lamar Odom is a good player and all but Marion is much better. Odom isn't even in his league. Please Laker fans stop trying to make Odom look better just because he plays for your favorite team. P.S. - I read the article on Shawn Marion in SLAM 99. This guy creates his own sh*t most of the time. Not from plays. On his own. I don't see Lamar Odom being top 5 in rebound top 10 in assists and top 15 in steals.
No kidding, if Kupcheck had the offer from the Suns on the table everyone knows damn right he would accept.

I'm sorry, but the Lakers would jump at the opportunity to get a very skilled defensemen and one of the top players in the League, who can score points without having the ball in his hand all the time. He would be the perfect compliment to Kobe, using his athleticism and skill to score points, well Kobe scored 40 on getting the the line and hitting shots.Kobe + Marion = great team.
Lamar's been inconsistent this year. He's had some some horrible nights and some spectacular nights. I'd take Marion over Odom anyday.. this dude is a double-double guy every single night.

Marion is a tag along, he cannot lead a team. Odom already has.Marion=tag a longKobe and marion wouldn't do as well as Kobe and odom. Odom means so much more to the lakers than Marion would.
