Well Armon is fearless. I love that. He plays D. I really like that. He's aggressive. That makes me very happy. It's a good start to his career & I hope he can continue to provide 6-12 minutes of solid ball this season.
johnson was great.... but you can see he cant shoot. hes a better pg then bayless but scoring wise... we will suffer there
this makes me laugh.... after 1 game we have our PG of the future. jeez.... i guess we also are gonna win the nba title too?
You could tell he can't shoot because he never took an outside shot? I understand the knock on him is an outside is not his strength, but the guy who won the rookie of the year last year has no outside shot either. Yet he continually attacked the basket. That is what I want to see.
Funny, I didn't see that. He was 3-5 from the field tonight, which tied Dante Cunningham for highest shooting percentage on the team.
The kid can handle the damn ball. He might not be the best shooter in the world, but his form doesn't look like someone crank starting an old model T as does Andre Miller's jumper. How can Miller's jumper look that much worse than last year? I don't care if you are 35 or 65, unless you are Reggie Miller or someone else who got good results out of bad form there is still time to change your shot. If Andre Miller played baseball, he would hold the bat over his head with one hand and chop down at the ball like he was using an axe.
On defense he looked a lot like Greg Anthony. On offense he looked like he knew what he was doing. That's about as much as you can ask for. Hopefully the kid keeps working on his game. Having Wes Matthews on the team (an UDFA from last year who made it big), can only help motivate him.
What does FG% have to do with being a good shooter? Would you say Dwight Howard is a better shooter than Ray Allen?
Gee, I have no idea. Steve Nash has a pretty good field goal percentage, and he's a good shooter. Johnson hit his only jump shot tonight. That's a pretty good percentage, too.
I undersatnd your point. But there are a lot of ways to shoot the ball. Personally i think we need more "shooters" around the basket. Of course you need both. But I am happy to see a guy who attacks the basket and can shoot it while doing so.
yup. Dude is athletic, can defend, and plays like a PG, but teams will be leaving him alone on the perimeter and hoping he'll shoot. Of course Andre Miller isn't exactly a great outside threat either and he gets it done... STOMP
That's a little interesting coming from someone that was bitchin' all pre-season before any meaningful games were played. I say, if you can pre-season bitch like a tornado in summer camp - Shooter can pronounce AJ PGotF after 1 game.
u do know you've actually written this season off for us on exactly one game LESS than one game.... right? i do appreciate the irony, but at least have a little perspective in your own posts if you're going to query sample sizes for comparison.
