I really like Henry Abbott less and less. It's like he feels he has to knock the Blazers once in a while otherwise people will get mad at him for talking too much about them (ironically). But the whole "Only... did he?" bullshit? What is this, seventh grade?

Oden really can't win, can he. If he refuses to talk to the media he's sullen and withdrawn. If he says anything, it's minutely dissected so that he can be psychoanalyzed. Usually as sullen and withdrawn. Oh, and lazy and aimless now, I guess. He should hire Sheed as his PR guy.

I guess I didn't find anything wrong with that piece. They were all pretty fair comments and opinions as far as I could tell :dunno:

maybe its because greg oden looks like he would rather study algebra rather then be at basketball games?

soccer mom syndrome ... its so true.

nothing abbot said wasnt fair and legit. oden reminds be of the kid in blindside.... lost and needs a certain push to wanna succeed. he doesnt have the drive or look many nba players have. no fire in eyes but disinterest.

I think he looks like he'd rather be somewhere... and I think he would rather be on the floor. I can't imagine that many people would have a good time watching guys who you KNOW aren't as good as you are getting out and playing and running up and down the floor.

I agree, he doesn't look happy to be sitting there in a suit missing another game when he knows he could be one of the top guys on the court in any given game.

But where he is? Sure. He wants to be playing, not looking in street cloths. Great to have guys like that. I knew you would be coming around on him. Good job Mixie. I knew that deep down below you are a real fan and it will show. You just can't keep that frown all day long can you. Such a homer, but we still love you.

Interesting note at the game . . . when they showed Joel and then Oden, Joel by far got a louder cheer. In fact the cheers for Oden were very subdued . . . unlikethe past seasons when they would show him on the screen.

Are Blazer fans disenchanted with GO?

I noticed that too. Until the first big screen "Hi this is Greg Oden..." then the place got a good cheer in for him.

I think a lot of people are confused about why it's taking Greg so long to come back, yet Joel is almost ready.

Lol@ Oden looking like he doesn't want to be there.

People tell me this same thing all the time and it's not true. In Oden's case, it's his face. His face droops down and makes him look tired and/or sad. Is he really? Maybe. But we can't just assume his state of mind by him declining interviews or changing his mind about things.

It will either work out or it won't. So who really cares what the press says?

Especially Abbot who said two years ago that Oden was the most uncordinated athlete he had ever seen.

Apparently Abbot is either blind or just started watching sports the day he first saw Oden.
Those are the only two things that would make his statement not completely fucking stupid.
