I'm not touching this thread, for the simple fact I know how annoying it is to be redundant about a topic you feel strongly about.

Why does Nic necessarily need to post up? If he isn't comfortable posting, just do what other teams used to do to us when we had Damon Stoudemire. Just shoot right over the top of them with no worry about them blocking the shot. Its a nice, easy relaxed jumper. For a guy who is 6'10" tall playing against Nash, that is a warmup shot.

Who won't? Its the fricking PHoenix Suns. It is against the good teams the lack will be more glaring.

I don't know... I'd say this thread is a valid discussion. To the untrained eye, it would appear that LMA had a bad game last night, but that would just be fools gold. I thought he played within the offense, didn't force anything, and rebounded the ball well. He was the focus of their defense all night, and they paid for it. Roy had a big game, Batum had a big game, and a few of our bench guys got it going as well. They chose to double LMA all night, and though he could probably handle it a little better, I thought it went well. Hell, most of his shots were open, makable shots, and they just didn't fall.

I don't think he played poorly overall, but 3-9 from the field is not good. 2-4 from the line is not good.

He doesn't deserve to get "killed", but he didn't have the kind of game (double-teams or not) that he needs to have throughout the season.

I agree. I'm a big believer in taking what the defense is giving you rather than trying to force things. The Suns were giving plenty of open looks to everyone but LA so why not go there instead? That's not going to happen every night and LA will get his. Once Oden returns, I'd expect things to open up for him even more.

My issue is a couple of his jumpers were when he was the center... he needs to learn that he can't stand on the perimeter and shoot jumpers when he is the main rebounder. Granted his boards were decent, but that is something that I think he needs to be reminded of when he slides over and Dante comes in... Dante will not be able to rebound against real centers in the league, and that is what LA has been cornering him into doing when Camby is on the bench.

Then only center that has any business shooting 3 pointers and long balls is Dirk, cause he doesn't miss.

He had 9 rebounds last night, and their leading rebounder had 6. 3 of his were offensive rebounds. I don't think his playing on the perimeter was killing us or his rebounding at all.

Maybe not but he looked exactly the same as he has since his rookie year. Pushed off the block easily, settle for fade-away jumpers, etc.

if LA (or any Big with a J) is playing the 5 and he's being guarded by the other team's 5, then he's pulling this guy outside of the paint on any long jumpers he takes. When this is happening, his teammates (like Dante) aren't boarding vs the other team's 5 because he's well outside the paint

it's amazing to me how many can't seem to get this

Well, I think we found who is going to kill Aldridge. Sucks that he plays for the Clippers.

This is why i said i had issue with a COUPLE of his shots, and acknowledged that he had a decent rebounding night. You might also have noted if you read the whole thread that I disagreed with the sentiment that he played poorly and deserved to be "killed".

But hey, way to try to argue someone's opinion.
