Why de-stigmatize food stamps?

They shouldn't be encouraged to be fed by the government like a nanny state.

 

WTF would we WANT to do encourage this? This state is so screwed.

 

You want to encourage it so that families who need the benefit are going to use it.

 

No you don't.

 

Uh, over 10% of the nation is on food stamps. We don't have a problem with people needing to be encouraged to use the handout.

If somebody REALLY needs the benefit, they will use it, regardless of some "stigma".

 

BB30, I hate to say this, but your sentiment is why I almost want Jerry Brown to win. He and his father helped to create the mess your state is in; he should preside over the collapse of California, which is going to happen no matter who is in power.
