We've got some really tough games coming up. How many do you guys think we'll take in the next 10? Ton of road games. Two against OKC. I think this will be a real test of our depth and our chemistry. We're going to need all our guys to bring their "A" game.

@New York - (W) NY is always tough for us for some reason. Should be good.
@Chicago - (W) I really hope we can contain Rose. We'll need Matthews here.
@Milwaukee (L) Second of a back to back. Bucks are good.
vs OKC (W) I think we're going to start a rivalry. Wish they were still Seattle.
    vs Toronto (W) Toronto sucks.
@ Lakers (L) Lakers at home will be tough.
vs Detroit (W) We do well against Detroit so I think this is a W.
@ OKC (L) OKC avenges their loss.
@ New Orleans (W) CP3 better hope he gets out of this game without an injury.
@ Memphis (W) Memphis is still our bitch.

Blazers go 7-3 over the next 10. What's your prediction?

That is pretty much right on if you ask me. I agree.

i think we lose to bulls instead of bucks. knicks will be a tough game. we will lose both to okc and likely 1 of 2 to hornets or memphis 6-4 or 5-5

but thats not bad... its a tough opening schedule. the fact they are 2-0 is huge because both were tricky games to call.

It's road heavy and playoff caliber team heavy ... 6-4 is probably realistic, but I really don't have a great sense for this team either way. If 4th quarter Blazers show up most nights, they could go 8-2, if 3rd quarter Blazers show up, they might be lucky to go 4-6.

Great point. Im glad we won and played great at times but Im a little concerned that we have this. "Well we can turn it on defensively in the 4th quarter." I wish it were the other way around where we play that way the majority of the game.

But on a positive note "they" always say the great teams finish quarters strong so if they can do that consistently I see that as a sign of taking the "next step" that the elite teams take.

To be perfectly honest. Going 2-0 against OKC is all that matters in that stretch. We'll be around a #2 seed, but the battle as it sits now is with OKC. We could go 2-8 and as long as the only 2 games we won were the two against OKC, then the rest are irrelevant.

6-4 is was my initial guess when I looked at it. I hate that we are playing OKC right after a long (Days wise) road trip. We never seem to play well the first game back.

The first game back from a roadie is for all intents and purposes a road game itself. Hopefully we'll have Joel back by then.

Good point. Like I said earlier, OKC is a pick'em in Vegas with Portland for getting the home court advantage seed from the NW Division winner. So the key to our playoffs at this point in the season is to make sure we own the tie-break against OKC and win games against them to drive their losses up. So we almost HAVE to get Joel back by 11/12 in order to ensure a road victory in OKC on that contest.

    @New York - (W) Amar'e isn't enough, we're too deep.
@Chicago - (L) I worry how we match up, especially with LMA not hitting his shot yet.
@Milwaukee (W) Second of a back to back, but Blazers have a history of winning these. Hope it continues.
vs OKC (W) We match up well with these guys, plus I'm sick of the hype. Homer vote here.
vs Toronto (W) "Toronto sucks. -NateBishop" - agreed!
@ Lakers (L) I think this will be close but we just don't do well when they turn the lights off in Staples for the Lakers. Ever notice they're on for the Clippers?
vs Detroit (W) I don't like the Pistons mix of players. I don't see us losing this.
    @ OKC (W) We send a message.
@ New Orleans (W) Again, we match up well with this team plus they don't have any outside gunners to spread the floor. Peja is past his prime by about two years now and Ariza is not Peja in his prime.
@ Memphis (W) I don't see Memphis being better this year compared to last. We still win.

As a newly minted optimist: 8-2.

And I'm counting on Joel coming back for NOH and Memphis at least.

Personally I wnat to take OKC down more than any of those other games.

I always taken the position I don't care what the media says or who their next "new team to watch" is . . . what matters who who wins on the court, so now it is time to show that OKC has not passed us up as the western conference team on the rise. In fact OKC may be the team on the rise, but for the Blazers the time is now.

Are you saying Russell Westbrook is better than Brandon Roy?

When I was watching Chicago last night they were having a hell of a time scoring when the defense finally locked down because their only option right now is Rose for the most part. Boozer would help a lot right now, but he won't be back by the time we play them. I imagine Chicago will be a much tougher team when he makes it back into the lineup.
