I ain't trading him now! What I liked was he was the first to congratulate LaMarcus after he hit the big 3 late in the 4th quarter. I think Rudy is starting to feel good about the team and his role. I say we keep him.

Here are my reasons to trade him

    1. He doesn't want to play here
    2. He plays shitty defense
    3. He is still one of 5 rotation guys that play the back court, and is behind Nic at the 3

RR7's got it right. We need to keep playing him, hope he plays well, and eventually trade him along with Miller and the NO pick for a long-term point guard solution.

So you are saying that we trade Bayless, Rudy and Miller for Bayless and pick? ;)

Who would that be though? I don't see many possibilities.

I don't know... it really depends on where his head is at. As long as he's playing well, he has a positive attitude, and we're winning.... I say keep him. If we get a trade proposal that knocks our socks off, trade him.

I was half joking, but really, I doubt he's happy here still, just because we got rid of Bayless, and are giving him some minutes to start the season. It's still a similar offense, still Nate. Still Portland, and we still have Roy. I don't want to dump him for a first rounder. We need someone who can contribute, and after moving Bayless, I certainly don't want Elliot Williams getting Rudy's minutes. But if the right deal comes around, you have to expect another pouting session is one argument with Nate away.

For the right trade offer I'd trade just about anybody on this roster aside from Brandon and Nic, so from that respect I don't think Rudy playing well or giving effort makes him less tradeable. Like MM I see the short terms success he's having through a long term lens and I doubt he's going to stay happy, nor is he likely to get many of the minutes that are alotted to Matthews, Nic or Brandon in the backcourt.

The clincher is whether or not he's changed his mind about wanting to go home to Spain and how other teams perceive him.

I wouldn't be surprised if they groomed him to be the starting PG after Miller leaves. I think Roy and Rudy have started to work pretty well together now that they are finally getting the chance to play together in bulk minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I still think Rudy is gone. I think he's playing his value up and once we get a deal we like, he's gone. I think Miller is gone too. I wouldn't be surprised if a major trade is made before the deadline. The only possible barrier might be if we're playing extremely well and Cho doesn't want to mess with our chemistry. If we're at the top of the league and playing at a high level, I don't think the FO would want to mess with a good thing. That's why the Bayless trade was made BEFORE the season started.

I think so too. Miller and Rudy are just trade bait at this point, imho. It will be very surprising if they are here after the trade deadline.

With who at the point? I have been an avocate of trying this, but only for a few minutes a game. For more than that I still do not like it. At least not yet. Now Rudy, Roy and a PG can work. But not with Rudy or Roy as the pG. IMHO

I'll be very surprised if we get some real value out of these guys. That being said I think the chances of one of them sticking around is bigger than you may think.

Agreed and it needs to happen.

Rudy is just w/e at this point and Miller just isn't a great fit and never will be. In order for the Blazers to be serious contenders Miller needs to be traded imo. Once the playoffs start and Miller and Roy are on the court at the same time and Roy has the ball it's basically like playing 4v5 on offense.

Time will tell. There are always opportunities to do stuff near the deadline - and the Blazers have multiple assets to make things happen - Expiring, overseas stash, young-guns, TPE, picks. Add the fact that there is one star publicly lobbying to be traded ('Melo) and one that is in a holding pattern (CP3) - and something is going to go down.

    We will see, I suppose.

I just heard CP3 on Jim Rome's show and he was still extremely non-committal when asked by Rome about his future with the team. I don't think he's going to be there after this season.

Rudy seemed really happy last night. The bench was very very into the game and seemed like a very cohesive unit. He stood up and cheered alot and had a smile most of the game.

    Come on, people.

He may be one of the worst defensive players in the game.

Last night he was 2-7 on FG % and -2 for game against the Clips. He also had zero assists.

The guy is terrible. If this is "high", I hate to see low.
