Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs expects to recover from a sprained left ankle in time to face the Buffalo Bills following the bye week. Briggs initially hurt the ankle during the Bears' 23-6 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 10, and he was forced to miss the following week against the Seattle Seahawks. The veteran linebacker was active and did start against the Washington Redskins, but the perennial Pro Bowler left the game after only a few series. "I thought I could play last week, but it just didn't work out that way," Briggs said Thursday. "While everybody else is getting dressed right now heading to the airport [to leave town for the bye weekend], I'll be here at 8:00 a.m. sharp, getting treatment and making sure I'll be able to play next week. "I'll be ready next week." Read more: http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=5737516
