Phoenix is up 58 to 42, in Utah. Is Utah that bad? Is Portland better than (some) people here thought? Did Phoenix just have an off night against Portland? It's only half, so the Jazz could come back.
Jazz look a lot weaker this year. They practically have no depth now that Millsap is a starter, that might change once Okur comes back though. On the plus side, Heyward is looking like he could be pretty damn good. I've watched him guard Grant Hill damn good this game and he finds creative ways to get off his shot. I think he'll be a borderline AS in about 4 to 5 years. Phoenix looks like a team that relies waaaaaay too much on the perimeter. So they are going to win depending on if they are on fire a given night. Blazers are much better than people realize, including this very board.
The Jazz will be better when they get Okur back. Although I am not a fan of his game I think he fits well with Jefferson. The difference for the Jazz........who would you rather have Hayward and Bell in the 4th quarter? or Korver and Matthews? No contenst IMO. Not saying Hayward won't be good, but right now he is not. And Bell is looking old. The Jazz are struggling on both ends of the court.
Jazz are now 0-2 for the first time since 1979 with back to back losses over 10+ points. This could be the Blazers year for redemption!
a jazz fan on missing matthews from espn boards.... It's early, but i am pretty confident that we will be one of the eight teams in the west that make the playoffs. (top four because of our point guard and coach). why? because I'm used to winning i have been a Jazz fan for the better part of the 27 years of my life. i'm lucky! Here is my beef we miss Wes Matthews bad. I understand we have a salary cap and Frick'n Portland is bitter because with out them no dwill for us, but we had to match that contract for Wes he was special...... We are not deep enough and we would be with him, he was a vital peace for our team.... Respectable shooter, very good defender, and gel in the locker room! Plus what happens if Raja gets hurt, can we expect a rookie to feel those shoes? We have a 13 man roster that is dependent on the position that Matthews plays.Thats what provides space for our big men. I give our staff credit for what they have done, BUT THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE! Sorry for the rant, and this is my personal opinion but you know we would be way better off matching stupid Portland!
Sorry for double posting this but i thought it was relevent to this thread too: Regarding the new rules: One thing that may change is the home court advantage for some teams. Take the Jazz tonight. One reason I hated going to games in the Delta Center was that the Jazz players and coaches could get the fans so riled up by flopping and complaing to the refs that the place would go crazy if they were ever down. Watching the Utah- Phoenix game tonight I did not see that emotion. Now the Suns had a lot to do with taking the fans out of the game, but IMO so did the new rules. The players could not easily incite the croud like they normally do. Neither did Sloan. Does no emotion from the players create less emotion for the fans? Does that help take away some of the Home court advantage?
I don't know what's more pathetic... his assertion that we're bitter over Deron Williams, or his overall grammar in that post. I think I'm more bitter over passing on CP3.
