Jerrard Randal has star written all over him. That guy can run. Reminds me of Dixon a little bit. He also can throw bullets.

What position do you think he'd play Zag? I'm thinking maybe tight end or fullback on offense, or LB on defense. I don't think he looks fast enough to be a RB or a receiver.

He's projected by most sites to wind up at DE. They say his frame could hold another 25 pounds easy.

Here's rivals take on him. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrec...yerla-96622;_ylt=AvRkjWACR.KGVYqL9z1qvshGPZB4

On the Hoof: Lyerla's frame could hold another 25 pounds. He has to be the spitting image of Brian Urlacher when he was a senior at the University of New Mexico.
Needs Improvement: He plays running back in high school, which is one of the few positions he does not project at in college. Getting reps at tight end, defensive end or linebacker is a necessity for the mental part of the game to take hold.
Most Impressive: He is an athletic anomaly who can test off the charts - even at the NFL combine - right now. Lyerla has superior overall body structure and could project at several positions at the next level. He is athletic enough to play receiver or safety at some colleges.
Conclusion: The last athlete that had this much physical size and talent while playing running back in high school was Julius Peppers. Lyerla could excel at multiple positions. Which position he'll play in college will really depend on how quickly he can have an impact for his team at a certain spot

I want to see him as a linebacker, maybe tight end. Fullback's aren't really used in a Chip Kelly spread.

I've read before where the kid can lay some lid with the best of them.

My good buddy from work was actually teammates of Polamalu at Douglas high school down by Roseburg. He said that Polamalu was actually a dynamic running back in high school. But he loved hitting so in college he played safety exclusively. There's not a player who I respect more in the NFL than Polumalu.

Also, Kailee Wong who had an pretty good NFL career as a linebacker was a great running back in high school at North Eugene. I think he held (or still holds) the rushing record for the state of Oregon. In fact, Bill Walsh promised him both offense and defense at the college level. In the NFL he was primarily a linebacker and carved out a nice career.

Safety is easily my favorite position, followed by linebacker. I love defensive players and I love hits. As much as I want to see him at LB or DE, I would really like to see him with the ball. It would be fun to see him at TE a few snaps per game. I think that guy could be like a Jeremy Shockey. I couldn't find the video from Shockey's rookie season of him running over that defender, but that's what I'm thinking of.
