Who was better. Wilt could get you 50 points and 20 rebounds any night. But Hakeem could give you 10 blocks and 5 steals a game. I would take Hakeem cause he played exelently on both sides of the court and coul prolly shut Wilt down.

Who was better? Obviously Wilt. He averaged 50 ppg one season and completely dominated everyone the whole time period that he played. He was the most dominate player ever. No contest.

Wilt, the ideal bigman, he dominated the court in so many ways when he was in the league. Sure Hakeem can steal and block but Wilt, scoring 100, averaging 50, that's no easy task.

People call Michael Jordan the greatest player of all time, but no one ever mocks the Rockets for taking Hakeem over him...Food for thought...

Yeah, but that's because Hakeem led the Rockets to two NBA Championships (albeit during Jordan's first retirement), and Sam Bowie really didn't accomplish anything worthwhile in Portland.

Hakeem is better that guy was crazy took him 12 years to get the Blocking title across his stomic to Kareem 19 years but Hakeem beat him in 12 years that crazy, Im just making a point how good Hakeem is on "D". Hakeem is crazy Wilt just played in the right era if Hakeem played then with Wilt he would be better then Wilt he would be better then him, Hakeem is faster, stronger, smarter then Wilt was and thats all you need to have them 3 things. You will say Hakeem is not smart Alonzo said the best blockers are the people that have the biggest IQ's and that his ture you have to know the time when to jump to block the ball and we all know that Hakeem is the Blocking title holder and thats why he is smarter then Wilt was in the game of basketball. This is a close race but Hakeem is better to me and to a lot of other people.

There was a season where he averaged 30 rpg, and if blocks were counted, im sure his bpg would be in the double digits.

I'm going to go with Hakeem. Wilt's dominance in the 60s had a whole helluva lot to do with his size. I think if you throw Hakeem into that era, who was the same size and probably more athletic, he would dominate just as much (if not more) as Wilt.

Nobody here has seen him play except for some old tapes on ESPN Classic, which shows their best games.

It's just too bad that Wilt was so great so early in the stages of the game. If he came into the game in the 1970's it would have been much more interesting because their were better players. But you have to take Wilt for what he was and try your best to place him where you think he ranks with the players ahead of him, it's really hard though because of the poor competition.
