A quintet of players shares the opening-round of the AT&T Championship after posting 6-under 65s. The 54-hole Champions Tour event is being contested at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.

Those topping the leaderboard are Americans John Cook, Larry Nelson, Mark Wiebe and Hale Irwin, along with Taiwan's Chien Soon Lu.

A stroke back at 66 is another big group that includes Americans Gene Jones, Chip Beck, Keith Fergus, Dan Forsman, Russ Cochran, Steve Lowery, Mark Calcavecchia and Kirk Hanefeld. Also firing that number Friday were Canada's Rod Spittle and Spaniard Javier Sanchez.
