I'm nervous since Curry re-injured the ankle, but otherwise it was a good game from our side. There were less mistakes this game than last game, and we put them away very early with a balanced attack, allowing our subs to get a lot of minutes.

Williams definitely seems to be getting the backup PG minutes when Curry and Ellis are both out; Bell and Lin aren't even getting into the game. I'm surprised that Carney is getting so many minutes, like it was said in the opener thread, he's kind of lost out there, and I kind of feel that a d-leaguer could be doing better than he is, but maybe he'll improve as he gets used to the system.

Having Curry go down was a huge loss!!! With him, the Warriors could run and gun like in game one or focus on defense like in game two. I'm not sure if Ellis can let the game come to him if Curry is out. He may revert to being a ball hog.

Not only that, we got a problem with being thin at guard. Monta will start at PG and Reggie will play SG. Will Reggie play backup point, too, or Bell and Lin get more minutes?

EDIT: I guess Rodney Carney is going to play backup SG and Reggie slides over to play backup PG.

I'm not too concerned about Curry's ankle. He just needs to learn to play through the injury and learn how to not re-aggravate it. It's easier said than done but at some point, you just learn how to do it (speaking from personal experience).

He'll probably take the Lakers game off and come back next Wed or Friday. He'll be heavily taped and he should also wear a brace (ASO is the type NBA players use: http://www.dme-direct.com/aso-evo-ankle-brace/) to counteract the inversion. But, I think it's really hard for players to get use to braces, especially young guys like Curry. We'll see.

If he keeps injuring it throughout the season, he's going to have to have surgery in the off-season to repair his ligaments.

Onto the game: I really am liking what I'm seeing. Everyone's making the extra pass and guys are getting good looks. There were maybe a handful of bad shots. The defensive effort was much improved from opening night. This group of guys is reminding me of the SF Giants. Scrappy, happy-go-lucky guys that play the right way.

Yeah, that was me who was bashing the bench.

But I will admit they looked very good last night and besides a not outstanding performance from the backup bigs vs Houston, they even looked pretty decent then as well.

Besides the run in the first quarter that included nine turnover the warriors dominated the clippers, who don't look like a very good team. The run actually started with the bench. If Gadz and B Wright can contribute like that each game that would be a big boost for the team this season.

I loved the assist total. It was well above 31 or so. I have never seen that from the warriors. I also liked the rebounding and defense. Outstanding game all around.

If Ellis can pass like that then it may be easier to do without a good back up pg. But if Curry is injured for Sunday, we will get to see how solid the bench is, once again.

Heh I was just joking Clif, everyone thought the bench sucked (still to early to say it doesn't).

Definitely sit curry for the next game and let that ankle heal up. In the long run we need him healthy. This isn't the time of the season to be pushing guys through injuries.

Defense was much better tonight. Seems like they executed their scheme much better. I thought carney did look better. His role still isn't perfectly defined but that's because we'll take anything we can get.

So far Smart is really impressing me.

I'm liking Carney a little more than last game, but for some reason Vlad really pisses me off. Great play from everyone, though. My favorite bench player is still Reggie Williams.

How about Dorell Wright? The guy is putting up numbers.

I liked the Lin appearance. It means the warriors are in control enough to drop him in the game.
