<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Heatfan32 @ Jun 4 2006, 03:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>So your going to base an entire series on 2 games played in the regular season? I already stated in the previous post why they will win but incase you missed it.-Shaq will dominate whoever he goes through-Wade will have huge games, tell me when hasn't he throughout the entire playoffs?Even against a good perimeter defensive team in the Bulls.-Our role players will continue doing it for us, as they have throughout the entire playoffs.-Yes Dirk will most likely have his 30 points per game but the question is will his teamates help him win the game.Once again, no one has yet to stop Shaq in the finals besides the Pistons but we already did with them.</div>No, I'm basing the series on 4 games. Wade will NOT have good games. Howard's arm length will kill him, and we have SEEN IT TOO!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Melo_061 @ Jun 5 2006, 12:50 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Well the X factors are Shaq and wade because it has been proven that Shaq has problems with guys who size up with him. Wade has never been in the nba finals and may disappear. And detroit beat themselves, they stopped the ball movement, took stupid shots and just didn't play Detroit basketball. It began in the cavs series and continued into the heat series.edit: Did you see Duncan againt dallas? he destroyed them.</div>Shaq has had problems when guys size him up? Do you watch basketball? If anything, he enjoys that. Did you see Ben Wallace try to take him on in the Detroit series? We all saw what happened thereAnd have you seen DWade play? The man never lets down, whether it was his first season, 2nd, or last. He played the last game with the flu, and was still Miami's best playmaker. Essentially, what you are saying is random thought with no proof whatsoever.

Griffin, Howard, and Harris will take turns guarding Wade. I don't know who is best at it but different looks is the key to taking Wade out of his comfort zone. Diop and Dampier are probably the best equipped duo to guard Shaq in the league. Dampier was brought specifically to Dallas to stop Shaq and now he has his chance.

I think Griffin and Howard will give Wade the most trouble especially Griffin he has nice length but not sure if he can keep up with Dwades speed but Howard can certainly do that. This will be another Finals 04 with Dallas winning.

Shaq HAS had problems, more than he does normally, when he plays Damp...and I"m not saying Damp is a great center, but it's a facgt that Shaq DOES in fact struggle against him...so It's not so random a thought as you might think.

Note to all: Shaq has upped his game tremendously in the playoffs. If you think witht he way he's been palying he can't handle Dampier, Nowitzki, or Diop, then something is clouding your vision

^ Exactly. It may not have shown during the regular season, but Shaq is a different player in the playoffs and especially in the finals.

Dampier was brought in to Dallas to stop Shaq. He is the perfect player in the league against Shaq. If he can't stop Shaq than no one can but I like his chances. Duncan was much more mobile but Dampier is a power defender. If Shaq makes those fancy moves in the post that Duncan does than Dampier might be in trouble but Dampier can handle the power.

How is shaq different in the playoffs? He's had good games but he's had mediocre games also. He's post season stats are not too different. Obviously he's intensity is on a different level but he hasnt faced up against people who size up with him. Tyson Chandler and Nenad kristic do not size up against him.And who's ben wallace? He's like 6-9 and weighs like 80lb's less than shaq. Ben wallace also is not a good man to man defender. When Shaq faced Kwame brown, he couldn't do anything. It isn't a coincidence that Shaq has problems with people who size up against him.

It seems some of you are using the arguement that Wade has never played in the finals to say why he isn't going to be reliable. Well guess what, this works both ways in this case. How many times has Dirk made the finals? What about Jason Terry? Josh Howard? Dampier and Diop? Devin Harris? Avery Johnson?Exactly practically no one on your entire team has ever made the finals before, at least we have both Pat Riley and Shaq who have lots of experience. If you say Wade won't play good because he has never made the finals then neither will Dirk.Howard has long arms thats why he will do a good job on him? Wade has faced people just as good as Howard, take Prince for example. It's not going to stop him either.

Prince doesn't have the athleticism or strength of Josh Howard. Griffin would also do better on Wade compared to Hamilton. The mavs are just very well equipped to beat this Heat team with the way they are stacked. I was actually more worried about Phoenix and San Antonio than I am Miami.

Lets not turn this into a Howard vs Prince thread now, I was just refering to Waqas post about Howard having "long arms"

Yeah the long arms helps Howard a lot but that by itself isn't enough to stop Wade. I was referring to Howard having more athleticism which allows him to have the capability to stay in front of Wade easier than for Prince who had to rely a ton on his length. Prince though is a good defender but certain matchups really hurt him because of his lack of mobility and Wade is one of those type of players.

MAVSFAN,THAT WILL STOP WADE. This is when Josh Howard becomes very useful. When Dirk averages 30 a game in this series, we'll show Miami.
