Does anyone have a larger picture of him in the alley? This is the only one I could find on the web and it flips back and forth with a pic from his playing days with the Sonics. It's one of my favorite all-time pictures of Luke!
This comes as complete shock to me. Like a few people on here I thought he was getting better and was looking forward to him coming back and working with the blazers again at some point. He was one of the all time great Blazers and just an overall good person, he is irreplaceable and will be missed.
Growing up I was on the same basketball team as his son and remember meeting him a few times. Really great guy. This really bums me out. My thoughts and prayers go to his family.
It's on the SI Vault website, too, but not as a stand-alone picture file. Too bad, that is one bad-ass shot.
Hey, if you're able to blow that up or digitally enhance it or something post it here! I would love to have a larger version!
When Lucas was hired as an assistant coach, I got to go the press conference. I was wearing an Oregon sweatshirt and we actually chatted about Oregon Basketball for 10-15 minutes, despite the fact that his son played at OSU. He just loved talking basketball and was friendly to me despite his obvious allegiance to OSU. Sorry to hear he lost his battle. RIP!

Sad news. I was surprised when I heard it yesterday. RIP Mr. Lucas. As for the video up above, those fans on the floor looked like JVG when he was trying to break up the Heat/Knicks fight back in the 90's.
I visited the Milwaukee Journal website and found this photo from just after Luke hit a buzzer beater to beat the U of Wisconsin. It has Al McGuire standing on a scorer's table cheering up the crowd and shows the father of two UofW players flipping him the bird. Pretty funny! Luke is being missed in the Marquette/Milwaukee area as well... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_tFk9wtrDGZo/R-W7rVCX0cI/AAAAAAAAAyE/5jL5ywAgxEs/s400/glennrocks%2Bcopy.jpg
just got a little choked up for the first time in years. Just finished our off air video montage paying tribute to Maurice Lucas. Please watch it as we go off the air tonight. RIP Luke.......
Will that be immediately following the finish of the game? Or is it after a post game show? I don't get Comcast so I need to know to determine if I can see it somewhere else.
any chance of it being on Youtube later? Doubt a feed will be up long enough for me to see it online.
