Getting a little ahead of ourselves here, to be sure, but is this perhaps lining up to be the biggest Civil War in history this year? Granted, there have been a TON of big Civil Wars the last 10 years... who goes to the Rose Bowl, who gets the BCS bid, etc.... but never has a possible national title berth been on the line at one. If the Beavers were the ones to knock the Ducks out of the BCS title race, would that give them crowing ammunition for about 20 years? And would Oregon fan lose their collective minds? Honestly, I think the game will be close, depending on the weather, but the Beavs don't have the offensive firepower to hang with the Ducks for four quarters. But the entire sporting world will be focused on Corvallis for that game, crazy things can and have happened in the past.
Yes, it will be the biggest Civil War ever. A national championship bowl game is on the line, doesnt get bigger than that. Hate to say it, but I dont think the Beavs stand a chance. The Beaver defense will get torched and the Beaver offense cant keep up with the Ducks offense/special teams.

I'm pissed because Chip had a great quote at the end of the SC game, and ESPN had it in their initial article, but they took it out. He said something like "I don't make statements. I win games." I don't think that's a completely accurate quote though.

That run by James Rodgers was sucha good run. He made that corner, and I still have no idea how. And the last 3 guys he got by were 3 of our future NFL DB's... gotta give my props there.
I would say the only two years that were comparable were when OSU was near the top with Simonton/Johnson/etc and when Oregon was near the top with Harrington.
I'm trying not to think about it too much yet, but it's almost impossible. We need to win our games before the Civil War to make it wothwhile for ourselves. Even though it's been a bumpy ride we still control our own destiny and we're improving as we usually do as the season progresses.
