It blows my mind to think that Jason Terry shot 2 and 2/3rds points per minute. He pretty much was our savior in this one.Edit: Half as many minutes as Dirk, twice as many points.
Oh, Terry was amazing tonight. I don't know what his end of game FGM/FGA % looked like, but at one point he was 11/14. Other than that terrible aired layup (LMAO) he was increible. If Terry didn't show up tonight, there is no way Dallas would have won with the start Dirk had.Maybe Terry should wear his own shorts to bed every night lol.
He needs to wear his own shorts everynight from here on out.I'm shocked the Mavs won without Dirk or Howard doing much offensively, allthough both got 10+ rebounds and 4 assist to have a more well rounded games...Dirk even had 4 steals, how's that for defense?

Gary Zo and Posey aren't scorers and without our starters producing were as good as dead.
I knew D-wade first up was not going to play great, he's first finals game and he's only 24. He'll probably break out next game.Anyways 3 games more and then Shaq will be a 3 time loser in the finals [jk]

Shooting 50% from the line is bad. Going 1-6 i think in the 4th is bad.So yes, D-wade played bad. Anyhow that won't happen again.
I think you're being a little bit hard on the kid. He's not going to shoot 70% all the time, and Dallas had some pretty sweet offense after they got things in rhythm. I don't think shooting nearly 30 out of your team's 80 points is too bad. If anything, the rest of the team let him down. I do agree with you on the turnovers, but in this game, there were a lot of bad turnovers.Howard was really pretty disappointing, on the other hand. He also had 5 turnovers, only scored 10 points... was 3-14 from from the field, 0-4 on the trifectas. Dirk was ineffective, but he was working hard... I don't know, it was just a really messy game all around on both ends with both teams. I kinda think Dallas is going to have an easier time fixing that for game 2. Dunno why.
Wow, Jason Terry was unstopabble last night and the Heat's offense was disgusting. The Heat couldn't get the ball into the basket, it was hard to watch. Dwayne Wade was still doing his thing but what in the world was up with the bench and Haslem. The offense died after they missed that three in the 4th quarter. Heat need to focus more on Jason Terry now that he is playing this hard.
The Mavs really played good the JET was the one that saved them. He was hitting from everywhere, and he was hitting effective, timely shots like Riley said. Great effort by the JET and good job by the Mavs on defense. Now they're just 3 wins away from a title.
In the last 6 minutes the Miami Heat looked pathetic and Wade looked really out of it, when he turned it over he threw his arms in the air instead of running back on defense...etc...The Heat just pooped out in the end with stupid plays and a ton of missed FT's.
I know Wade didn't play great, outside the first quarter, but he didn't have a bad game.A few TO's were costly hear and there, and a bad night at the line...but 28 points is NOT a bad game.Sure he could break out and get 35...but the Heat aren't going to be much better just because of that.Shaq will need to get AT LEAST 25 for them to win more than 2 games, and the rest of the team, besides Tione' thinking he's on fire, to step up.
Antoine actually played a great game for us, those 3's really came in handy for us. It wasn't Shaq's fault that he lacked points, the team never gave him the ball but he still shot 8-11. Dampier and Diop haven't done anything to slow down Shaq so far but what I will give them credit for is rebounds. There were no second chance shots for either teams although we did out rebound Dallas.
11 - 25 is bad for DWade, but we have to remember that he still wasn't 100% from the flu. 2 days before he was talking about how he pushed himself too hard, and felt worse. He was still playing at a sold 85-90%, or so I heard, and 11-25 shooting isn't too bad.
Wade came out very strong. He attacked the rim very well and got around the defense. I went to sleep near half time, and I guess everything changed around that point..
My bad on the Howard on Wade, I didn't realize some Mavs fans thought he would stop him. Howard is not even a shut down defender, a good defender in spurts but I don't understand how some fans thought he could stop Wade. With Walker, seeing him play for us for that year, I love the guy's attitude and heart but he's like Stackhouse, you have to take the good with the bad. At times last night I was glad when Walker had the ball, he made shots but he also made mistakes that benefitted us. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Wade came out very strong. At times, I was saying to myself: "Wow, Antoine is awesome"However, at times I was saying: "What is this?"Antoine's shot selection is still horrid, and he still shoots mnore airballs than anyone I've ever seen, but he can be a solid contributor.
You also have to consider the 5 TO's by Josh Howard, which isn't usual for him at all.I saw 3 times where he just threw the ball away, or something like that...I dont' think you see that much more this series either. And I know Wade will have better games...but how about we give some credit to the Mavs defense on Wade from the 2nd quarter on...I mean he was on fire, and then the Mavs put somone in his face, and did a good job of keeping him from driving way too much.
Things I've learned from this game.1. If Josh Howard isn't hitting his shots he is pretty much ineffective on offense since teams will pack inside and force him to make outside shots. Walker is not the Howard stopper.2. Haslem is a much better defender than I gave him credit for. He has turned up the intensity on defense against Dirk. Still Dirk wasn't his usual self and Haslem isn't the Dirk stopper either3. Wade is a great first half player but the key is to make him work hard for every point he gets and he will wear down as the game goes by. Same with Shaq.
