Damn, if Shaq continues to shoot free throws like this the Heat won't win a single game. He gets more opportunities than anyone and shooting 10% or worse is killing his team. And Jason Williams is just dumb.
34-50 Dallas at the half. I'm actually quite surprised at this...it looks like the Mavs woke up offensively in the 2nd quarter...I wish I was watching the game so I'd know if the Defense the Mavs are playing, OR the Heat themselves, are the problem on offense. The Fouls are pretty even right now...the Mavs have been called for 13 to 11 for the Heat...Man this is just crazy. I hope the Mavs know the Heat WILL make a run, and prepare for it.

I'm not actually watching the game...so are the Heat just being aggressive, or are the calls ticky-tack?</div>I think it was part of the Mavs strategy in the beginning... at one point, Griffin had Shaq in a bear hug, so I don't think it's all ticky tack.Man, the Mavs defense is great. They're denying Shaq AND Wade. Even I didn't think Damp could do this well against Shaq. Most people said they'd do better, and I tended (is that a word?) to agree with them, but WOW.Also, STACCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It pains me so much to see the Mavs up by 16 at halftime when my team was sooooo close. </div> I still don't see how Suns would play Shaq with guys like Thomas and Diaw. Sooo close? The Suns are a better team to the Heat to me, but remember, the Suns lost in six, and 2 of those losses were to pretty big margins.Next year, they have a better chance than this year.Plus I'm not sure the Suns had the depth to do what the Mavs are doing to them.
They had enough depth. Raja would have been healthy and Kurt would be back. I consider 9 players good depth and 2 wins pretty close.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rok @ Jun 11 2006, 07:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I still don't see how Suns would play Shaq with guys like Thomas and Diaw. He'd be dead by game 6 or 7 against the Suns. I am rooting for you guys now though since people that think the Heat can win, other than Heat fans, make me laugh. West is elite.
2 wins is alot...That's akin to me saying the same think in 2003, when the Mavs lost to the Spurs in 6 games, when we felt like they could have won it, and then the Spurs went on to win in in 4 I believe.2 completely different teams...plus the Suns wouldn't have been able to play the defense on the Heat that the Mavs are right now.But you're right...the West is SOO much better than the East right now.I'm actually surprised the Pistons won a title...I still think that if the Spurs or TWolves had went to the Finals instead of the "dream team" Lakers, they wouldn't have.
I do think that you guys and the Spurs would have beat them quicker than us but I think we could have defiently won.Marvin, just saying that being in the Western Conference Finals, so close to the Finals and knowing you could be the Heat and then getting all these injuries this season is really killing me. There is always next year though. And it's really funny to me that people don't realize the Suns had a pretty nice defensive team with KT there.
What I couldn't believe up the western conference finals is how far the Suns made, I thought they would be 1 and gone in the first round against LA. Most of the credit right now should be going to the Mavs defense, it has been spectacular. Also, if you guys prefer to see 200 replies of "Dallas in 6 for the same reasons everyone else said" then thats your opinion but I personally prefer to see some debates and different ideas in a finals topic.
Well, Marvin....that Pistons team was pretty damn good and coached well. The East did have a great team that year, but I hope seasons like this continue for the Eastern Conference so our teams can get some championships. 10 years of this will be welcomed by me, hah...
Oh sorry AZFan...I believe the Heat would have won too, they'd have found a way to get it done, because they are a scrappy, and tough team. And I agree that making it to the West Finals, and making it to game 6 is a great accomplishment...and I can kinda see how it's like "Man we could be doing that", because like I said, I was in the same boat in 2003.I just thought you were trying to take something away from the Mavs, and now after rereading your posts, I see that.
Oh no, not at all, lol. Just seeing what you guys are doing amazes me and it makes me mad that the Suns lost such a great opportunity. And like I said I'm rooting for you guys. Finish this thing fast. It's almost football season and I'm tired of basketball right now, lol.
OH C'mon man...I'm IN TEXAS...we can't wait till Football season to Start!!!OH MY GOD!!!!Damp has 6 points.Shaq has 5.Hell has officially frozen over.
This game is just sick... the Heat can't get anything to fall... I have a question, but maybe I will make a thread about it later.
It's crazy, everytime Shaq touches the ball he has two or three white shirts around him. They are not afraid to foul him either, knowing that they have 12 fouls between both Dampier and Diop. Shaq in the first half was passing out of the double teams very well but his players, including Wade, was missing their easy layups that was being created by Shaq. Shaq is missing from the foul line still, and i think it's actually affecting his confidence a bit. I have seen him miss some shots that he usually hits from right around the paint area. Not only that Dampier has been running the floor much better than Shaq. Shaq is looking slow and tired, Dampier and Diop both seem to have energy, are moving around down low and really just hustling well.
I don't know about sweep...I'll stick to my prediction of Mavs in 6, I just won't get it right by saying the Heat win one at Home AND on the Road.
My prediction was Mavs in 6 too, but it's not looking too good for the Heat now. And I'm not worried about jinxing the Mavs since they aren't my team.
Wow, the heat are really getting outplayed, i'm speechless :no1:. I turned off this game at half time, i knew it was over. 5 shots by shaq? Are you kidding me?
