True, but after reading his posts I can only conclude there was nothing offensive about them.

The team folded tonight and he called them on it. I understand some homers are unable to view their team realistically, but don't shoot the messenger.

It had nothing to do with his assessment of the team, and everything to do with his methods for conveying his displeasure. Sorry Maris, but those posts were intended to strike a nerve. They did and it was nipped in the bud. It had nothing to do with the team's effort, or the fact that they lost. It had everything to do with using Lucas as a weapon against the people who post here. You can disagree if you like.

So the Blazers finally play a decent defensive team and get their asses handed to them.

Welcome to a Nate McMIllan coached offense when Brandon Roy isn't bailing it out. So damn efficient

The defense was more of a problem than the offense.

Good thing you didn't type Luke's name anywhere in your post criticizing the team. It's a bannable offense!

If you seriously can't tell the difference, you might want to brush up on your own reading comprehension.

The defense was garbage also. 0.00% from 3pt (0-14)

Serious question. Did Batum hurt himself? He didn't play well, but 18 minutes?

Maybe next time Batum misses an open 3 he'll get back on defense and not allow an easy 2. Also, maybe he won't get picked all night and get torched by Deng and Korver.

The Blazers scored 98pts and 25 or more in 3/4 quarters. Their defense sucked ass and that's why they lost.

I do disagree, and any grammer teacher will tell you I am correct.

The remarks were very clearly directed at the team. Not at posters. Not at Luke.

About the team. Not about posters. Not about Luke.

They were intended to strike a nerve (with the team). Nearly all worthwhile posts are intended to provoke debate. There is no rule against it that I am aware of and in fact some of us come here mainly to debate and disagree and have our nerves struck occasionally.

But really, all he did was state the obvious that most of us were thinking to ourselves.

"I really expected the team to crush Chicago for Luke. WTF happened?"

Arguably the worst defender on the floor tonight. Unusually terrible game from him tonight on both sides of the ball.

This would be a whole different game if Deng didn't score 25 points over his average.

I have to give Tom Thibedou props though, that guy is such a great defensive coach. That team is night and day from last year on the defensive end. It looks like Noah and Rose have great chemistry together, when Boozer gets back I think they will be top 3 in the East.

Also, Bogans is one of the more underrated defenders in the league. He never gets talked about, but always brings it on D.

Another thing to add, the ball movement that we've seen in the first 3 games, just wasn't there tonight. 15 total assists? meh.

Maris do you understand the concept of trolling? Do you know what it means?

I imagine his response, and I'd agree, is that trolling can only exist if people respond to alleged trolls. Trolls have absolutely no power except that which other people (who claim to be victims) give them.

It's like salary caps in sports. It's not that the relationship (either between troll and trolled or between owner and athlete) is not consensual. It is. It's that the owners and trolled want to be saved from themselves. :)

Your zen approach is different than mine Minstrel. I'd squash a bug, rather than wait to see if he crawls out of my house on his own.

But how do you deal with people you find to be annoying, but not rules-breakers, in your neighborhood or office? If you murder them, you go to jail...as unfair as that is. :) I assume you just ignore them as much as possible. I suppose some people try to confront them, more or less aggressively but, from what I can see, that's usually not a very successful approach.

The fact of the matter is that internet trolling is just a more modern manifestation of an age-old truth: some people, once they know they get to you, enjoy using that power.

Well, the frustrating thing is they're not playing more zone. They do it so much more effectively than Man-to-Man defense.

Also, how do you like this lineup for defense: Armon, Wesley, Batum, Dante and Camby!! We wouldn't need no scorers, we'll get a steal and run on half the possesions, and on the other half, get the rebound and run...

Ya, it's Batum's fault he was picked all night. Maybe adjust so he isn't runnig off picks all night would be in order?

I am not disagreeing with you BTW. Our defense was horrible, but our offense was really bad. Our offense is never good, but a lot of times it gets masked because guys make tough shots. Last night, outside of LaMarcus, that didn't happen. And kudos to LaMarcus, BTW, he has been great so far this season
