My two cents- I think the ban is an appropriate length and...sorry, but I don't like seeing HCP's pic- though I do understand it's clowning around, just find it disrespectful at this point in time.

I like HCP's posts much better than Shooter's, but I really don't like the pic.

Just got home and re-read some of this thread........ this shit just blows me away. Shooter, up until you started the What's Wrong with Roy shit I honestly had never heard of you on here. You got some issues brother. To come on here and go back and search for things that I had posted is just silly to me. I am an outgoing personable individual who is friends with very different people from many walks of life. That said, whether it was when I was growing up, or in the Army or now with people I work with I have always joked around with my friends........ and they have with me. Have you no experience with cracking on your friends while watching a ball game or having a beer? This is the only forum I visit on the internet and it has taken some time to adjust to how things are handled here in the computer world. But I love that there is a forum to discuss my favorite team on earth with tons of people with differing opinions and views. I'm not sure what your people skills are in the real world, but if they are anything like you have shown on here in the past 3 weeks, you need help. Please put me on ignore, because I ain't changin', or going anywhere anytime soon. And to be honest, to say that I put up that pic of me and my friend Maurice Lucas(who used to talk shit about my mom and wife all the time...... cause that's what friends do) on here out of disrespect to his passing is absolute BULLSHIT! *Deleted*

My thoughts on MIXUM exactly. He's got good thoughts every now and then...just doesn't deliver / present them in a manner that works. Almost appearing to go out of his way to be a pest, each and every post.

I'm not certain that he was saying anything that horrible, but once HCP weighed in, I was enlighened how MIXUM's post was offensive to HCP. As a personal friend of Luke's, HCP found his post's outrageous, so I'll go with it.

My wife and I lost our baby (at 20 weeks - stillbirth) a couple months ago. To some outsiders, this was not a huge deal. We heard many "don't worry, you can try again" and "never say die! try, try again." etc. But to us, our loss was devastating. Other couples that have experienced the same, find ignorant comments like these offensive and/or hurtful. Maybe you have to be in certain shoes to feel the hurt when certain comments are made. So I suppose it all depends upon who's saying what to whom and when. And in this instance, Mixum's comments were ignorant at best. Suspension is fine. A ban? I'll leave this to others to decide. But I've forgiven the ignorant comments expressed to myself and my wife - because I realized they were coming out of ignorance (not knowing). I find Mixum's posts....."ignorant" rather than "mean."

Sorry for your loss man. Having two young children of my own, I wouldn't even know how to handle such a thing.

Thanks HCP! Really tough. I'll be 50 in March (wife is 36). I adopted her two daughters when we got married, so he was going to be our first together. I've come to realize that losing a friend or family member...we mourn the memories, etc. When losing an unborn child, it is still a loss....just the "mourning" is different - mourning the "what if's" rather than the memories.

We also know that God has his plans. Still tough however.

Thanks again. (and above Luke being a professional basketball player of fame who passed away way too young....I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend!) PS: I smiled when I first saw your avatar. We all know you work for the organization and knew Luke personally. I vote for solidarity.

Gee, isn't that nice for you. You're an "outgoing, personable" individual who just happens to make a lot of posts about guy's sexual organs, your own body functions, and having sex with other people's wives. You may think this is all fine and good, and nothing to object about, but there are lots of people who think it's unacceptable on a public forum like this.

And then you have the gall to say I have "some issues." I'd say you should look within your own soul first.

I joke around with friends all the time, but those are PRIVATE conversations! Don't you understand the difference? This is a public forum, in case you hadn't noticed, and the rest of us shouldn't have to listen to you talk about going to bed with other poster's wives and all the other crap you post. Get a clue.

BoomChakaLaka, I would never say "try again". I am so sorry for your loss, and sorry if anything said here made it bleed a bit more. A family member is not a table or TV that you can just replace with a new one.

As for HCP, we all mourn differently. I remember being outraged when some jerks publicly blasted Keith Olbermann for going to a baseball game right after his mother's funeral. His mother loved baseball, introduced him to the game, so after the burial the whole family attended in her honor, why not? If HCP wants to remember a joke he shared with Luke, more power to him.

I am not observant but I said Kaddish for my cats when they died.
