This is the problem for me in that I do not believe there is a mythical trade that brings back players that make us a better Nate coached team. No team is going to have 15 guys that are perfect fits.

I have offered statistical facts along with my opinion. You have offered opinions and tried to pass them as "fact". That I think this thread is silly, and that your points are over-the-top does not make me a "troll". One could say that this thread is trollish, based on your first post, though.

I'll add that trading Roy for a "PG or SG" the fits with Nate is absurd considering Nate doesn't even have a contract for next season at this point.

"James Harden played his best game of the season."

7 fucking points with a single FG in each of the 3rd Q, 4th Q, and OT. Yep, he sure took it to Roy!

Look at his last three games....

    1-7 against the Jazz.

    1-7 against the Clips.

    3-5 against the Blazers.

Great. he wasn't absolutely terrible against the Blazers. Clearly Roy's terrible defense giving up 3 FGs to him is what lost the game.

It was three baskets and a very small sample size. If he misses one of those, was Roy playing better?

Should we be criticizing Batum since the lowly Clippers were able to hold Durant to 0-10 behind the arc and 6-24 overall?

    Indeed.

This is the true problem with trading Roy.

What are you going to get back that actually better for this team?
Especially considering Roy is pretty much exactly the type of player Nate wants.
    Slow, methodical and effcient.

Or do you believe the statistically disproven notion that Nate wants to up the tempo on this team.

It's already been established that Nate has never, ever coached a team with a tempo that was even average.

Even if you assume that isn't true and Nate really does want to run, who exactly is better then Roy in the league?
There are maybe 10 or 12 players total better, only two of whom are even remotely available via trade.

CP3 maybe? Except he would leave Portland as soon as he could to go play in New York.
Melo? He has already stated he wouldn't play here.

No one else I can think of is even close to Roy's caliber (and age) and a potential trade target.

The reason people don't actually bother giving actual reasons why not to trade B-Roy is because the idea is absurd to the point I could only assume it was a joke.

Hey, I said he played his best game. I showed you that he did. He hit some big shots when they were making a run. Draw your own conclusions.

You're right. I thought Roy looked a bit off, but he's also been on and silky smooth in some games. I think as always the biggest problem with Roy is endurance. Roy simply didn't have much gas in the tank by the end of the fourth quarter and none whatsoever in the OT. He'll get better. The rebounding is a problem I also want Miller gone. I know he threw mad oops etc. but he's old and slow and it's painfully obvious against younger PG's I'd rather see one of Matthews, Rudy or Johnson out there with Roy and Batum then Miller. He is just too limited offensively and allows teams to cheat on Roy and collapse when Miller is on a wing. At least with Rudy, Matthews and Johnson they somewhat have to respect the outside shot.

I'm not worried about Roy yet, I need a lot more evidence then 6 games played.

sorry guys, but it's a game of cost/benefit in the NBA. Very few players are excellent scorers, rebounders, passers, AND defenders. Usually I'm happy if someone is good at two of those four. Miller is an excellent passer, a solid scorer, and a decent rebounder. How many point guards can actually stop guys like Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Rajon Rondo, and Russell Westbrook?

I have. I'm not sure what your point is, though. Harden scored 7 out of the Thunders' last 56 points after they were down 64-51. Clearly his were the biggest and most important points. Why, Harden had a whopping 3 point from the 10:44 mark until the end of OT. Fucking Roy! Guard the guy! He was killing the Blazers down the stretch by not scoring!

Why are you sorry? I already posted this about Miller. Glad we agree!

If he plays like he did in the 2nd half, then it's not worth the cost of his poor defense and lack of blocking out his opponent. If he plays like he did in the first half, the benefit of his PG skills on offense outweigh the cost of his defense.

Fine... Thabo had 7 points of 3-5 shooting, Harden had 7 points off 3-5 shooting. Thabo's best game of the season as well. That's 14 points the Thunder wouldn't normally have gotten. Is it a ton of points? No, but it pretty much accounts for the lead that we had.

"Playing off the ball" does not mean standing still and waiting for it to be passed to you.

It means blocking out, setting picks and cutting to the basket, constantly moving to get and stay open and be a distraction to the defense.

All the stuff he doesn't do.

Pretty much. Even when he attempts to it's half-assed.

The guy Miller was allegedly guarding had double that number on his own. I get it. Your M.O. is to bash Brandon Roy. I'll move on at this point.

I suggest you start watching some games. Aren't you the guy always bitching about Comcast and your lack of TV coverage?

Oh come now, you know that my MO is sarcasm. I like to diversify. I bash McMillan too! Oh, and sometimes I like to bash Aldridge, but he's been playing much better lately, so I'm going to have to wait on that one.
