I think you missed my point. I think the road gets easier in about a month. If they hold serve during the first month and a half then I think there's still good things on the horizon for this team.

$9m or so for those draft picks and none of them look like NBA-caliber players.

Wasn't 2008-2009 the year that you bet we wouldn't make the playoffs and lost? Didn't you make that same bet last season and lost?

It's more than 9 million when you think about it, probably closer to 15. In any case I guess I'd put Nicolas in that group (Sergio, Rudy, Freeland, Claver, Koponen being the others). A 1 out of 6 hit rate for a late first round pick isn't great, but how many of those guys ever turn into quality rotation players? 15% of the time 20%? It's hard to say.

Suffice it to say it looks like KP took more of a shotgun approach with those picks than having any kind of special ability to ID difference making foreign talent. But if Allen is willing to shell out the dough, it's his dime :dunno:

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Really, that was your point? Okay, I misperceived your post then. It seemed like an addendum at the end. As in "The team doesn't look good, MIXUM has a point, but I'm not too torn up since I saw it coming. That said, things get easier later, so it's not all bad."

I didn't take that last bit to be your main point, but if it was, then I misunderstood.

Does Mixum have a gambling problem? We better get Mixum some help!

No, because in this case we are playing the role of "the house" and Mixum is the the guy that can't walk away from the slot machines.

I understand that! You better make more bets with Mixum before he gets some help!

My "emotion" comment was mostly directed at Mixum who is pretty clearly distraught and dismayed over the current state of affairs, my main point was that while things look dire in the short term, there is a light at the end of the tunnel (hopefully).

What's sad is that I agree with Mixum about Porter. He really has no business being a sideline reporter. He looks so awkward and out of place talking to the players.
