Mixum is spot on with this, oden is just scared to play cause his knee still hurts. Garnett went through the same process when he came back, just took a while of playing to fully strengthen his knee and get that confidence back. Chris Broussard was on first take today and he said oden has been cleared to play, so i would think oden getting a second oppinion is just reassurance.

Or some strong hallucinogenics to make him think his knee doesn't hurt.

And I am hopeful that is the case. Just remember most guys who have a major surgery on their knee don't perform well for the first year after the surgery. Kind of like how KG was playing on one leg most of last year, and how Zbo had a fairly poor year the year he came back from MF surgery. The difference between the bigs and the smalls though, is a big can play on one leg and still make a difference. A guard can't.

I don't really want to see Greg playing on "one leg" -- so to speak -- I think he's begging for another injury if plays A) tentative and/or B) out of balance.

If there is ever a time for posters not to be called out for reading into things and going on thier gut insticnt when it comes to this kind of news . . . now is the time.

Posters were ridclued, laughed at and called all kinds of chicken little names for being concerned about B-roy during the pre-season. Then when Roy was playing in the regular season and some of us were commenting on his lack of explosion, again with the name calling of chicken little and pointing to his stats.

Well as it turned out, those concerned that Roy may not be right were dead on . . . and fanatic fans were saying all this weeks before it became public.

Maybe fanatic fans are the best source to guess what is really going on behind the scenes. Just maybe after following Oden for years, Blazers fanatics have the best guess on what this news means . . . and if one was to wiat until things become official before giving thier opinion on it . . . well that would be one boring board, wouldn't it?

For me, the majority of my defending Roy was because of posters like Shooter who were questioning Roy's heart, effort, leadership, etc., and were basically saying he was not trying. Shooter already made a 180 on that, which is hilarious in itself, but one thing I don't think anyone can question is Roy's effort. Basically calling him a quitter, when it turned out he was injured, was simply ignorant.

Well shooter probable did the 180 after finding out the truth . . . but at least he had the balls to come on here and question Roy's performance on the court which led to a lot of posters taking shots at him.

I felt a lot of what shooter was thinking (something was wrong with Roy) but only said it a couple times to avoid the "you don't know anything" speeches I often get when guessing what is really going on with someone.

People work with what information they are given. For a long time, there was no scuttlebutt on Roy being hurt. So people can only let their minds run with the reasons that Roy might be performing as he did. It doesn't help when comments about wanting the ball more and taking more shots are ran in the paper on the weeks leading up to the poor performances. If people learn information and change their minds, is that a bad thing?
