I posted this in another thread, but Paul Allen can't get an expedited diagnosis for his $15 million/year investment?

Something is fishy here. I've worked with specialists. This guy should be able to look at an MRI and the history, and if needed, call in Roy for a physical visit. If the doc has a vacation planned, then Paul Allen has the resources to still get Roy's imaging in front of the guy, at the very least, and then wait until next week for an actual visit by Roy. In the meantime, if Roy really is seriously injured by viewing an MRI, at least they can shut him down until an actual physical visit is possible.

I don't see what's so fishy about it. Roy wasn't there in person, so there is no huge urgency about looking at the pictures. Looking at Oden and Eliot were obviously higher priorities, and yeah, maybe the doc had other clients scheduled that day.

I, too, and also, think this was not a big deal. Honestly, I think it was to be expected, because an injured Brandon Ron takes medical pictures the way he plays basketball when healthy - he is very stealthy, he comes at one speed, but then switches gears on the fly and oops, he is not there. It is clear that the Doctor is going to have to spend some time on his file.

Then why bring the imaging? Why not just send it? Also, as I posted, what client could possibly have a knee worth the value of Brandon Roy's knee? It doesn't take that long to look at imaging. Believe it or not, I do have experience in this sort of thing.

The imaging should tell the story, though, at least in medical terms. Unless Roy has a different knee structure than most humans...

I don't say "fishy" because I think anything is being hidden. I say "fishy" because I've seen docs look at recent imaging for a few minutes and be able to tell if there is a "there" there, for things a lot more important than a bum knee.

Indeed, why not just send it? Why not send it last week? Or the week before last?
I imagine he took it in person because he happened to be going that way. My guess is having this guy look at Brandon's knee is actually an afterthought, not Plan A.
"Hey, I'm going to take Oden down to see this doc, maybe we should have him look at Brandon too?"

I think the Blazers already have some Doctors that have looked at it - and that's why he is still playing, because they have not seen anything that makes it obvious he should not be. I am guessing there might be looking for something that is not so obvious there... and that might not be as simple as that.

Oh, I've watched House too. And it's clear Brandon's problem is Lupus.

I have a theory that the team has a good idea what should be done/how much damage there is, and maybe Roy doesn't want to agree. Maybe he thinks less minutes, but the team thinks surgery is necessary.

The 2nd opinion, if it was a major issue, would involve him A: not playing anymore and B: making the trip.

The 2nd doctor looking at the pictures/MRI probably just is being done so he can hear someone else say "yeah, we gotta scope the knee. you'll be out for 6-8 weeks, but eventually it might cut your career short".

I would think if it was a major structural or physical issue, the team wouldn't continue letting him play. The potential for him ruining his knee (maybe even worse) probably weighs heavy on their minds and Uncle Paul's wallet. So I doubt they're going to take a huge risk.

Plus, I'm not sure they would've signed him to such a huge anchor of a contract had they not filled it with incentives or a way out for the team (insurance pays it, etc).

Of course, there's a lot of holes in my theory.

That makes sense. My confusion arises in part because of the supposed expertise of this mystery specialist. I'm guessing that the LA doc did take a look, so nothing on the the surface that looked off from the current diagnosis, and then said he would revisit it after consulting some colleagues.

I actually do know what I'm talking about here, but go ahead, add your usual buffoonery for a few cheap laughs. It makes me laugh, too! :)

I'll add that one of my daughters may have lupus and sees a kidney specialist, you funny guy, you.

You might know something about medical imaging, but you don't know anything about what's on Brandon's images, nor about the doctor's schedule, nor about what happened during Cho's visit.

Sorry to hear about your daughter.

Apparently the doc was going to take a look at it, but he was getting blown up with calls to report to surgery and said he'd take a look at them by early next week ... at least that's what JQ reported on 95.5 about an hour and a half ago.
