I can tell you that Brandon Roy being injured is in no way a blessing and make our team better!

Exactly. Without Roy or Oden, we have just enough talent to make the playoffs and get swept.

I am sure they were just waiting for Roy's insurance to be accepted. He probably claimed Workman's Comp and those are an absolute bitch to deal with.

I disagree. I think that the teams battling for 7th-8th would all be teams we can compete with for that spot. The top 6 spots will be populated by genuinely tough teams. The bottom 2 spots will be fought over by marginal teams who are all beatable on any given night.

Brandon is not a threat right now.... having him out gives this team a new focus and I'll bet ya better ball movement! I see Andre being able to really create instead of focusing on getting B Roy his touches and I see LA having an allstar year because of it. I also see Rudy taking off with new found minutes and Mathews being able to really lock down on defense with more conistent time.

I think this team with Roy out might shock some of you!

I disagree. I think all 4 of those teams would be better WITH Brandon Roy.

Have you looked at Houstons record lately? It turns out that with Yao playing limited minutes and Kevin Martin being a low percentage Chucker isn't working out so well for them.

Portland beat PHX with a very sub par performance from Roy. I don't fear them even without Roy.

The Grizzlies are tougher then both of those teams because they are well rounded. But they don't understand how to play defense, so they will struggle at best.

When we played PHX, they didn't know Roy was playing at 50% capacity. So they had to game plan as though he was the superstar he was. Knowing he is out, their game plan changes to stop other people, just like they did in the playoffs.

Brandon Roy joined the Blazers as probably the most pleasant surprise this decade. His combination of explosiveness, shooting, heady defense, courage in late-game situations and leadership are the top reason the Blazers made the playoffs the last two years. More than any other player - save Greg Oden, perhaps - had Portland reviving championship dreams for the first time since 2000.

If Roy's knee is permanently compromised and he's not going to return to something close to what he's been, it's truly sad for him, the Blazers, and us fans. B-Roy has been a great player for this franchise, with a potential to be among the five best Blazers. I hope it's not too late, and that there are doctors, treatments, or something, that can bring him back to form.

    Pulling for you, #7.

Not buying it. PHX is a far different team now than it was in the playoffs and we still were able to manage two wins.

What if they game plan next time expecting us to switch on the pick and roll with Nash? Nate finally got it mid-way thru the fourth quarter and that is when we made our run.

Not saying that you made the claim, but others saying Houston is now a better team since Roy went down is laughable. They are 1 and freakin 6 with Ming reinjuring his foot!

I'm not saying PHX is better than us, even without Roy. I'm saying that using our 1-game against PHX this year with a 50% Roy as proof that we are better is faulty logic.
