Denver already has an old PG, but at least they have an up and coming young one in the wings. Why do they want to give up that young PG for a second older one?

Why would any of the other teams do this?

Because they are also extreme homer Blazer fans that overvalue our players?

I'm trying to put my finger on when people started doing this, does it go all the way back to the '77 team?

Yeah, let's make our big FA acquisition a third-stringer...

I think it started with Billy Ray Bates.

Not too sure about that but I do remember that dude getting pimped pretty hard by the fans.
So much so that no player has ever been as good as people thought Billy Ray would become.

At least it sure seemed that way when I was 10.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
He's referring to Wes Matthews. The original post has Matthews as the third-string SF.

Shit, I don't know, but its funny. I remember we signed guys to 10 day contracts and people thought were going to be great. Steve Henson rings a bell. Negele Knight, Rumeal Robinson, Kaniel Dickens and the legend of John Crotty etc...
