Something tells me that the Marty deal has probably made another trade with Minny pretty tough.

I would normally agree, but they do not seem to be the sharpest tools in the shed.

Trading for the best player on a crappy team. Harvey Grant on line one...

Why would we trade a center for a PF that duplicates what LA does? I suppose we can play Love at center. But I also agree that Minny isn't taking Oden for Love.

This board's obsession with Love is bordering on creepy. Never seen so much interest for a guy that is so mediocre.

I'm not sure I follow. He scores well inside and out and rebounds fantastic, but his defense is poor at best. He helps our bench but I'm not a Love lover despite my Oregon and UCLA roots.

And I just don't see how we get him without giving up too much.

Didn't Zach and Darius overpay for "love" a couple of times?

I'd like Kevin on our team. I think that the same reason he didn't fit with Al Jefferson is the same reason he'd be good with LMA. And against teams where having an undersized C would hurt us, you start Camby and LMA.

Agree that you shouldn't overpay, but I'm not too much in awe of Kahn's negotiating skills right now.

    Hahaha!

If that isn't a cautionary tale with K-Love then nothing is.

    Re: kevin love

When you cut a player's time by 1/3 and their shooting percentage goes down, it's not much mystery why he didn't produce.

And no, I'm not talking about Wes Matthews, although I guess I could be...

    Re: kevin love

Harvey Grant just was never particularly good, though. His PERs with Washington:

    10.6
    12.0
    16.5
    15.3
    16.1

Just above average, at best. And that was at ages 23-27.

    Compare that to Love:

    18.3
    20.7
    20.7

Significantly better than average... and that's from the age range of 20-22. He's still got a lot of time to improve...

The Jazz took the best player on that crappy team of last year and Al Jefferson is looking like a nice fit. Lakers took the best player on a horrible Memphis team and it worked out for them. Can't really fault a 22 year old for playing with a shitty cast of characters.

What kind of numbers can you give me to suggest he's mediocre? His rebound rate? His PER? His passing ability?

He's the best big man in the league in terms of wanting to change your offense to get out and run. The guy throws outlet pass dimes like he's not even thinking about it.

28 pts, 31 boards, 5 dimes and 2 turnovers against NY tonight. Unreal.

Love currently has 31 rebounds, 13 of those offensive boards. To go along with 28pts and 5 asts with 3 minutes still left in the game.

You guys are right he's just an overrated scrub.

    A possible 30/30 game?

First one since Moses Malone in 1982.

I think that's really cool that Love accomplished that. I love hustle guys and he epitomizes hustle guys.
