I mean, Delonte is an okay pg, but do you want Orien Greene as our freaking back-up? come on. Besides, Delonte is more comfortable playing the two. I would gladly have Williams and West playing together in the backcourt.</div>Delonte is not just an ok pg, 12/4/5 as a second year player with barely starter minutes is much more then an ok PGand second, you dont draft back-ups in the first round
you don't draft back-ups in the first round? that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard! Almost every team does that! And what do you think Adam Morrison would be on the Celtics? A back up!!
You dont draft backups when you already have very capable young players at the same position. You have DWest. Why wouldnt you want to fill your biggest hole? At Center and PF. Maybe Ty Thomas will fall to you guys.
What are you talking about? We have young talent at ecery position. And you're statement was hypocritical. You said not to pick where you have young talent, what do you call Al Jefferson?Get this, just having Delonte West WILL NOT get the job done if we want to be a championship team. Let's be honest with ourselves here. We can't pile on talent where we don't need it. PG and C are our biggest holes, and since Bargnani and Aldridge will be gone (most likely), we have to take a PG. NOT a forward like Thomas or Morrison.
Al Jefferson won't be a future starter though. He hasnt developed at all so far. Delonte had a very good 2nd year. He should be a very good player for you, thus you dont need to draft Williams. I havnt seen anything out of Jefferson besides slight glimpses of talent. He hasnt proven anything at all, and he is not close to being a capable starter yet. Thus, you need to go after your weakest positions which in my mind are PF/C.
I disagree with both of you, sort of, you draft the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE. Morrison/Thomas>West, and whats this talk of a championship team? We won't be one next year, I'm sorry, but that's how it is.

The reason he made slow progress is bc of his injuries, but right now he is working hard two times a day, which he will be doing for the rest of the summer. He's not even close to being a capable starter? don't give me that bullsh**, you obviously haven't seen him enough to know. He is by far without a doubt the best low post threat on the team, and one of the better ones in the league. besides, averaging 8/6 through injuries isn't that bad at all.And just bc Delonte will be a good player doesn't mean he can't have a back-up. If you look throughout this team, you see we have scorers, defenders, shooters, rebounders, shotblockers, everything you can imagine, except a playmaker. That is the one piece we need, other than what Bargnani would give us. And again, i realize that our C spot is weak right now, but who are we going to draft? O'Bryant? We'd be better off taking williams.and khaos, i understand your theory of taking the bpa, but i just don't want to see another logjam. It doesn't help us at all.
I meant he wont be an adequate starter in the next few years. Admit it. You need some major help downlow. And Delonte is a young guy, he will be fine at pg for you guys in the future. You guys need a PF/C more than anything though.
I can GUARANTEE you that Al Jefferson will be playing like a starter by the end of this upcoming year. You honestly have no clue about this. We also have Ryan Gomes, who with minutes was getting 13/9.And Delonte won't be an all-star, so he NEEDS A FREAKING BACKUP! This team will never get out of the first round as long as Orien Greene is the 2nd pg.And honetsly cb4, how many freaking times do i have to tell you. All the top tier centers will be GONE by the time we pick.
LOL "top tier centers in this draft." The only real center projected to go in the top 10 is O'Bryant (who I wouldn't mind at 7) haha. Aldridge, Thomas, Bargnani, S. Williams = NBA PF's. And CB4 - what's a better lineup? C: Perkins/LaFrentz PF: Gomes/Jefferson or West/GREENE/DICKAU (recovering from season-ending injury) Point taken, we need a better backup PG than Orien Greene.
