There are 5 people I have my eyes on once the Hawks pick comes around. Marcus Williams, Randy Foye, Patrick O'Bryant, LaMarcus Aldridge, Andrea Bargnani. Marcus Williams. You desperately need a pg. Al Harrington can play PF for you for one more year, than you let him go and draft a PF. I doubt Bragnani will fall, so you gotta go with Marcus.
I think Marcus Williams should be Atlanta's pick. He is the best "pure" point guard in this draft, and that is an area of desperate need for the Atlanta Hawks. Brining in Marcus Williams will allow them to keep Joe Johnson at the shooting guard spot, instead of asking him to play out of position at the point as much as they did last year. This will allow Joe Johnson to be a much more effective scorer, the spot that i believe he needs to take on this team. If Al Harrington declares for free agency, then it will be time for Marvin Williams to step in and show why he was such a high draft pick next year.
Marvin Williams is a SF, it will be sad to watch him play out of position in this hellhole...I agree they need to pick Marcus because they need to stop this insanity and pick players they need.
Well really Al Harrington is a small forward also, but he played Power forward for good chunks of the game, and has pretty much the same size and attributes as Marvin Williams. I think Marvin Williams can slide over and play power forward for portions of the game in Atlanta just fine. I know there is a little bit of a difference between college and Pro's, but that is where Marvin played at in college is Power forward for the Tar Heels, so he has experience playing closer to the basket.
He's 6'8" 230 pounds, his perimeter game is what makes his game and keeping him at PF takes away from what he can do. Al Harrington was 25 pounds heavier and could take the pounding, I don't know about Marvin.
I want Harrington to declare for FA. The Hawks need to learn to play without him. He's really improved his outside game, but we got 12 SF's on this team. We got 2 outstanding prospects behind Harrington. I think it's time our younger guys got a taste of starting in the NBA, and becoming an importent role player. Harrington can get 18/6 somewhere else. Marcus Williams can average 8 assists his first year. I have no hesitation saying that. He is a playmaker. He will be able to set up Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Zaza..I would love to have him on the team if he can stay out of trouble. And Marvin Williams cna play down low. If you saw him at the end of the year. He was f*cking facialiazing guys down there. Dunkin on their asses, doin spin moves dunkin it, he had alot of great moves down low. I don't care if you have Josh Smith or Marvin Williams down there. They can both hit the outside shot, and they can both be effective post players.

You wouldnt have a Power Forward if Harrington declared for Free Agency because Bargnani and Thomas will probably not be around when you get to pick. Your biggest need is a pg right now because Salim is only good off the bench and Tyronn Lue just plain sucks. Marcus Williams is a pure pg who knows how to lead and he takes it to the hole. I say you keep Harrington and then trade him away or let him walk after next year, because it's true, you wont be able to pay for him.

O'Bryant has much more potential than Chris Kaman. I mean, no stab at Kaman, but he simply does not have the gifted talents O'Bryant has. O'Bryant in my opinion will become a slightly better version of Marcus Camby. Anyways, back on topic. Atlanta should pick Marcus Williams since it is their weakest position. Tyronn Lue is mediocre and Salim Stoudemire is a SG in a PG's body, undersized 2-guard. Other than PG, C is also another weak position of theirs. Pachulia has improved his game, but he's still nothing special and won't get the job done in my opinion. They also have no one backing him up.
Should they take a look at Hilton Armstrong in the 2nd round? He could add some size, defense, and shot blocking..He'll be a solid backup?...
