Indiana University defense sets the tone in beating Wright State

    Verdell Jones III looked rusty in the season opener Friday after missing three weeks with an ankle injury.

    Sunday night, he looked much more like a player primed to have a breakout season.

    Jones scored 27 points, one off his career high, to lead Indiana to an easy 67-44 victory over Wright State before an announced crowd of 15,261 at Assembly Hall.

    Christian Watford, who had a career-high 24 points in Friday's season-opening 88-60 win over Florida Gulf Coast, came back with a double-double against Wright State. Watford had 17 points and 10 rebounds, his fifth career double-double.
