Shit that's true of almost every rumor. If you hear about it, it usually means the talks are already dead.
Miller and JPEC with the NOH 1st and our first for Iggy and Hawes works, but they probably want to get Nocioni's or Williams' deal in there, too.
I think they're looking more to get out from Iggy's contract, than to get a talent-for-talent trade. But I don't know.
I don't claim to be an expert on Philly's situation, maybe you're right. So eff it, here's my radical idea which I'm sure half of the board will hate to no end. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2av8gqg
I've read that Doug Collins is torn on what style they want to go with. They have players like Brand, Nocioni and Hawes who are halfcourt players, then they have Holliday, Iggy and Young who thrive in an uptempo system. Its a no brainer to me what direction they should go in. Its kind of similar to the situation in Portland. We have players with conrasting styles. Well, actually not really, just Roy
That's hilarious. I JUST posted a trade idea involving Iggy earlier today. I figured it would take Brand's huge contract to get Iggy on our team.
Maybe not, if they're actually TRYING to move him. I'd love to keep Miller on the team if we can get Iggy by himself, but if we have to take Brand it would take Miller, Joel, AND Camby.
That would be such a huge amount to take in for a non superstar. I love Iggy, but that's too much. Brand is the shell of what he used to be.
I really don't care... and neither should Paul. It's really a matter of how much he wants to win. They might just want to move Iggy, but if we really want to make sure we get him, we might have to take back Brand as well. If that's the case, maybe we could get them to part with something else.
Brand' putting up pretty good numbers this year. He is ageing though and an injury waiting to happen.
If we're still in a "win now" mode, we might be able to pry Iggy away without giving up anything. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2gylnvf Iggy for Joel, Williams, Babbitt, and Rudy. That leaves us with: Andre/Johnson/Mills Iggy/Roy Batum/Matthews Aldridge/Dante Camby/Oden But if they're wanting to move more than Iggy, say Brand, then we will have to use more of our expirings to get the deal done. I posted earlier that it might take Miller, Joel, and Camby to get Iggy and Brand. If that's the case, I'm thinking we're planning for next season when Oden is healthy again. Iggy might not be Roy, but he's still a damn good player. I'm wondering if we could pry Evan Turner away from them in the deal if we took Brand... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2gayx79 Joel, Miller, Camby, and Rudy for Iggy, Brand, and Turner.
Pardon me, but I would much rather give up Oden. a) he has more "perceived" value, and b) Przybilla probably has a few years left, whereas Oden will probably never be healthy. I'd rather band-aid the Center with Camby and Przy, get a decent piece in Iggy, and worry about everything else later. Trade Oden, Elliot Williams, and Babbit for Iggy and move forward.
There's no way they're giving up Turner. They drafted him as the future of that team. The future is bright there too. Turner, Holliday, Young and Speights is one of the better young cores in the league. Turner is going to be a dynamic player.
