The rest of the league has a big enough sample size to not want him. Great shot by Miller. He's awesome!!
4-13 shooting, 5 assists and 3 turnovers is tough to find. No wonder they gave him such a huge contract.
The play that won the game was Conley getting stripped by Matthews in the last minute. He's not a starting PG for a team that wants to make the playoffs right now. He'll improve, but has a LONG way to go.
Very nice. The team did what it had to do to win. Tightened up the defense when needed and went to the hot hand on offense. Andre Miller was carrying us offensively down the stretch but also important was the fact that Othella Harrington jumped to my head when the score was 93-93 and brought us good luck whenever I rementioned his name in my mind. Also, Sean Marks' communist way of helping the other team close it's deficit by not playing defense, not taking rebounds, definitely not scoring points and sometimes even passing the ball to the opponent is worth something like 5-6 points against us per game. If you can find someone who's even just mediocre to replace him, we will be much better off.
He got stripped, adn they lost. I remember losing a game to Mem. last year in the RG where Roy got stripped to lose it. It happens. He's a good player.
For every 1 fan that wanted to trade for Conley, you have 10 that want to trade Miller. I think in both scenarios it comes down to what else was involved in the trade. Bottom line Miller is still better than most Pg's out there.
Reminded me of the time Jarrett Jack got robbed at halfcourt for the embarassing loss years ago. JJ has steadily improved each season. If when Conley retires they compare him to Jack he'll have done all right.
Here's my list for this season: 1. Paul 2. Deron 3. Rose 4. Rondo 5. Nash 6. Westbrook 7. Curry 8. Evans 9. Parker 10. Harris 11. Dre. Wall is climbing up that list very quickly, almost as fast as Chauncey is falling down.
Paul Williams Nash Rondo Westbrook Rose Billups Curry Parker Jennings Kidd Evans? I don't really consider him a point guard. I'm not saying all these guys are better, I'm just putting up names who are in the conversation.
That's a reasonable list, insofar as which point guards to place ahead of Miller. I'd knock Rose down your list a bit and move Parker up a bit. And I'm not entirely sure I consider Evans a point guard. But none of those are terribly big deals.
It's interesting to see how much Billups has regressed. Averaging 14 and 4 in 32mpg, but is shooting 34% from the field, and 31% from three. And his momentum killing "big shot" threes with none of his teammates back to rebound still suck. I'd definitely take Miller over this guy this year.
For the record: Blazers 100 to 99. Wesley 30 points. Say it again, Eyore. Not to say Wesley is as good as Roy, but tonight he gave the team everything Brandon does AND Wes plays defense. That made him better than Roy...for one game. The question is whether he can keep it up. Go Blazers
It could have to do with an aging player playing in the world championships and not having any legs due to no time off between seasons. The old guys can't do that shit.
