I think he is paid to keep the officials attention. Not many players can or will travel just by holding the ball over their own head.
I was impressed at how he grabbed a board, held the ball out to AJ just awkwardly enough for the Grizzlies to steal, then look super-confused as someone came down the lane and, instead of getting in position, made a perfunctory swat at the opponent's hand as he sailed by. Sean Marks: basketball wasn't his favorite sport.
He's like a white, shorter, less ugly version of Ha. Actually, I'd rather have Ha. He at least could commit a pretty violent personal foul.
Professional BBWAP - Big Body With A Pulse. That's all he needs to be to earn an NBA paycheck. And BTW, that comment is NOT meant to be insensitive to Fabricio Oberto and his heart condition. I wish Fab all the best. He's a great guy, a class act and a true professional. I wish his time here in Portland could have lasted longer. It's just a phrase I've used for years for any tall player of limited talent who is brought in to hold down the end of the bench, serve as practice fodder and only play in a game when there is absolutely no other option. Thanks to the internationalization of the NBA, the term BWS (Big White Stiff) is outdated. Now big stiffs come in all races. BNM
We've had worse scrubby white big men. Tough to get any rhythm after being thrown into the fourth quarter cold in a tight game, when you're not very good to begin with.
The D-League is literally full of big men who are better the Marks. Then again, so is the NCAA. I am hoping to never see him on the basketball court ever again after Joel comes back.
When Walton's greatest remarks are listed, you always see on the list, "What would the Clippers do without Sean Marks?"
He ruined the Clippers' championship possibilities that year! Which is hard when he never played for the Clippers... http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/marksse01.html I'll go look up the quote. I just saw it last night on Ball Don't Lie, too.
marks was a hornet last year. making my case stronger that the blazers are this years hornets. lets keep this thread going. sean mark jokes all day all night oberto makes him look like an all star
Here's what I was reading last night. Comment #1. I got the wrong Sean. "Where would the Clippers be without Sean Rooks?!" http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...asts-in-a-blaze-?urn=nba-285783&cp=1#comments
