<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Pistons are likely to make a run at free agent Bonzi Wells, a former Pistons draft pick, who played in Sacramento last season. Other free agents who would fit the need would be former Piston Mike James, recently of Toronto (although he might command too much money), Philadelphia's John Salmons and Memphis' Bobby Jackson.</div><div align="center">Source</div>Just a rumour right now, but he would be a huge pickup for you guys.

That would be a waste of money for Detroit. They already have Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton. What would they need Wells for?

I doubt Wells would come. I mean going from being a starter in Sacramento to being a Benchy in Detroit.

I think on a team the calibur of Detroit Bonzi would not only fit in well, he would enjoy the role coming off the bench. Him and Dyess as a 1-2 punch is nasty.

I'd like Bobby Jackson too. Bonzi would be a cool fit, but he can't be worth a ton of money. Money is tight these days. 45+ million isn't enough anymore.

I think Wells would be pretty pissed to be a reserve, even though he's going to a team who's a contender. But they need depth badly, and they need younger players.

They can't afford to add Bonzi, they have enough salary to crunch as it is to add him...They can't sign Bonzi and Wallace.

MLE?But we do need a back up point guard more. The 60th pick won't do it. Gerry McNarama isn't going to be a great NBA player.

I would love to have this guy. Tony Buckets and Carlos Delfino are horribe players off the bench. We need this kind of depth. I've been saying it from day 1 that we need to pick him up and now it looks like we may give it a shot.

If you do get he will bring much needed defense to the team aswell. This team was built on defense and it should stay that way, I doubt you will be able to sign, he'll probably ask for lots of money.

I agree with heatfan i think he will be too expensive, and i don't know how much of a bench player he will be. I think if he doesn't want to be a bench player though, he better find a new place to play besides Sacramento as Kevin Martin is about to take his spot next year. I also agree, that he would be a nice pickup for the Pistons, give them some defense and tenacity coming off the bench, as well as a player that can put the ball in the basket. I believe he would really fit well with that team defense that they use in Detroit.

No one would throw away like 7 million dollars to hae someone come off the bench for 20 minutes a game..if they want depth, go for cheaper players who wouldnt mind backing up Rip Hamilton. Like Flip Murray maybe..

He'd be a good pick-up, but if you detroit fans are planning on getting him, might as well not bother looking at anyone else, bc he'd take up the full MLE, unless they do a S&T.

I wouldn't mind using the full MLE on him. I think he is worth it, he would bring the backup we have been seaking since after the 2004 championship season. Mo is a good young player, but he doesn't bring the offense that a team like us needs from our bench.

Guys, I dont think he would be too interested in backing up. It's obvious he can still start at the NBA level, so I dont know why he would rather back up Rip Hamilton, then re-sign and play on the Kings who have a good shot at the 2nd round for next year.

I am completely sold on the thought that his starting time in Sacramento is limited with the emergence of Kevin Martin. If Bonzi Wells wants to start, he needs to go to the Bobcats or some place like that where he will be guranteed to start.
