Maybe with Roy and Oden out, a "real team" can emerge! I love the energy and defense I've seen over the last few games. Ball movement has been there and everyone is getting involved. That wasn't happening three weeks ago. The scary reality might be that Roy as I've thought forever is the wrong peace for the overall development of this particular team. The guys aren't standing around now waiting for Roy to get his touches they're looking for their own shots and their teamates. This is what basketball is supposed to be! The Pistons team that won the championships in the early 2000's had no real super stars yet they came together and made it work. As long as our boys hustle, look for each other, attack the rim and box out we'll be just fine. Our Blazers are very long and we do have players who can attack the rim. We'll be even bigger in a week with Joel coming back, that will help Camby be even more aggressive! It's way to soon to say all this injury might not have made this team a team! I'm actually looking forward to UTAH to see who steps up this time!
Wes gave ya 30 his first start and 20+ the second and 10 rebounds and everyone else had #'s.... Mixum the ball is moving right now and the whole team is playing defense! This is a good thing and Joel is back next week! We have our enforcer back!
Imagine that. Nate being forced to actually coach (ie find a way to maximize the talents of his players).
I agree that ball movement is better minus Roy, but they still don't have much of a go-to player when they absolutely need a bucket. Maybe Nic develops that or LMA makes an unexpected leap this year. We'll see.
