Andris "I refuse to stop going for steals on post entry passes" Biedrins looking deft in the post. Two fouls now though.
felton has been so lucky lol...couple nice moves by biedrins in the post. when lee and biedrins aren't in there, it's crazy how we immediately go back to being the team that allows 2 offensive boards before we get one ourselves. they just said an interesting stat though: the warriors commit the 2nd most fouls in the league, but they are the least fouled team in the league. it sure as hell feels that way too, glad i'm not crazy.
It's time for some halftime warriors confessing that Vlad over Bwright is horribly depressing No Lee means the bigs are underpowered The Knicks just became superman Dwight Howard The 'bockers are also making everything they shoot An ass kicking no warrior fans can refute Ellis is scoring and dunking and doing everything he can But the warriors need somebody to step up and be the man p.s. wtf Brandan Wright, do you suck that much that you can't be beat Vlad for minutes?
Wright was held out last night (back spasms I think). Vlad was held out too (brain spasms I think). Dude hit a few shots early on, a few real nice passes, and then an opposing Knick must have said something that hurt his feelings, he just withered, shut down, crawled into his little Vlad-cave and disappeared. Carney was a complete NO-SHOW, especially on defense. Like "what are you doing for me Rodney?" He was just out there as a 5th player, MIA, doing nothing at all on defense. So annoying. Monta was insane. He did it everything, all night. He threw down a dunk on Turiaf's dome where he took off from a full step behind the dotted circle. The Warriors defense sucked. It was either easy buckets or stupid fouls. Granted the Knicks shot amazingly in the first 3 quarters, but GS had a huge part in it. The Knicks had 32 FT attempts, the Warriors had 17. The Warriors were called for 25 fouls... the Knicks only 16. Monta was the only one attacking the rim. I guess you could say Vlad and Dorell attacked it, if by "attack" you mean take some weak sauce into the lane, elevate about 4 inches, do a double pump prayer layup and get roofed by Turiaf. Warriors were down by 17 and brought it to within 2. But in the end, it was an L. GS needs Lee back.
Definitely need Lee back. We had a complete 0 from the PF spot. If Lee gives us his usual 14/10 we in that game, probably pretty easily because the Knicks were killing us on the glass. We were awful the first half. The Knicks were also insanely hot- Felton was NUTS and hit some shots that he couldn't hit again if you gave him 100 open looks. Gallinari killed it at the end too.
How can Brandan Wright be hurt again? That guy has no durability! I bet he won't be resigned. I guess that's why we drafted Udoh and got Amundson for insurance. The funny thing is we got 4 or 5 power forwards and all of them get hurt? The warriors don't have much luck here. Jeff Adrien almost gets as many minutes as Radmo since the coach doesn't know what he's going to get from Radmo night to night. The Ellis dunk was amazing, but I wish the Warriors could have just won.
Personally, I take Adrien over Vlad. I like the guy. Strong, powerful, explosive, workhorse, nice motor... short for the position, but so was Barkley... excellent passer, which is deceptive for his size and shape... had a few nice dishes last night... plays under control... I hope he becomes the regular back-up there behind Lee.
Ya, I've liked Adrien's energy/work ethic. I imagine once Amundson comes back, there'll be few minutes left to be had. But I like having a guy that plays hard (and still playing within himself) for every minute to come in for those remaining scraps.
I actually thought Adrien looked like crap in this game. But overall I like him. I don't think hes earned time over Gadz at this point IMO plus I think Smart likes that Gadz has legit C size. Once Lee and Amundson come back (and Udoh) it wouldn't surprise me if they send Adrien to the D-League instead of just having him inactive. I get the feeling he won't make it to the end of the season though. We have major needs at backup PG, backup SF and we have a full roster. He could get the axe if we opt to try out some other D-Leaguers or we make a trade where we need to free up a roster spot.
