The Reno Bighorns used a 41-point third quarter and a double-double from Nick Fazekas to defeat the Utah Flash, 117-106, in front of a sellout crowd Saturday night in the Reno Events Center.

Reno and Utah battled to a close game at halftime with the Bighorns leading 53-51. Reno then came out of the halftime break on a 12-0 run, outscoring Utah 41-23 in the third quarter to pull away for good. Fazekas finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Aaron Miles finished with a double-double as well, notching 17 points and dishing out 13 assists.

Utah would mount a late comeback, cutting the Bighorns lead to just six points with 1:48 to play. But Reno scored 10 of the game's final 15 points to take the season-opener.

Utah was led by Andre Ingram, who finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Orien Greene added 18 points and Kevin Kruger chipped in 16 in the loss. Brian Hamilton had 13 rebounds to lead the Flash

Six Bighorn players finished in double figures, including all five starters. Mo Charlo led the ‘Horns with 22 points, and Marcus Landry added 22.

The Bighorns and Flash square off again Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Reno Events Center.
