This is the first time I've seen this. To reply to your message, the window didn't go to the right of the screen like last time but I had to click it twice like tlong said. I don't envy you having to figure this stuff out.

    3 choices:

    1) I can revert the database and code back to before this morning. We lost all of today's posts, but everything is the way it was yesterday.

    2) I'm calling in some help to see if we can't fix the problem. Not sure when my buddy can get to it, got his voice mail.

    3) Getting tired of vb4? We could switch to different software, like drupal. I could import the entire database to it, so we don't lose any users or posts.

We're not the only site affected by this upgrade.

    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...ntial-user-lost-for-VB-(Yes-another-complaint)

The upgrade was a good idea because it included some security fixes. I've done upgrades several times without problem, and had no reason to expect a problem this time.

    I guess I have IE7.

    What should I use instead -- Safari? What's the difference/why should I switch/how do I get it?

I like FF and Chrome much better than MSIE. Chrome is fast, but the extensions are not as good as FireFox. FireFox is very good, faster than MSIE and has fantastic extensions.

Chrome is what I use almost exclusively.

It's blazing fast, compared to FF these days (at least launching).

if the problem is widespread, i am sure there will be some fixes coming along soon. if you just shelled out for vb4 having to double click on a button for a couple more days shouldn't be world ending.

I do most of my browsing with Chrome as well, but when I need to do research and save stuff - nothing beats FF's Scrapbook extension...

I tried Chrome for a while, but it seemed really buggy.

What's drupal like? I love making random small changes in my life. It may be sad but changing the software on this site would be one of those changes.

Maybe I there have been problems but I've only used Chrome since it came out basically and I've never noticed anything.

Also, does anyone else imagine William Shatner is saying everything Denny posts? I just realized I think of several posters as just their avatar, like thats who they are.

    Drupal is what theonion.com runs.

You can see it in action at http://drupal.org.

It's not exactly a message board/forum, but you can post threads and comments and so on. Private Messaging, avatars, signatures, and all that.

A thread might look like this:

    http://drupal.org/node/978762
And they have forums, too, but they're not meant to be as feature rich as vb.

Not exactly fixed, but better I think.

I'll work on it in the morning.

I've always been a FF fan but recently moved to Chrome after reformatting. Been with it ever since.

Much better. It isn't doing the fixed pane scrolling text thing, but I still had to click twice to post (not a big deal).

    Thanks. I appreciate it!

I installed IE7 in a virtual machine (http://virtualbox.org) running XP to debug this. I saw the messed up styling and fixed what I could in a few hours. I don't see the click twice to post problem though.

    Weird.
