http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5846998 Per the article above. I have to say I'm somewhat surprised. I think this is part of the reason why we are seeing deep discounts this season as well.
Ticket prices will drop... With the injuries, fans are less interested, which equals less interest. Simple economics.
Mixum has now taken such a pessimistic view of the future he thinks we will all die in an apocalyptic event some random March day. I will begin preparing the eulogies.
If I remember correctly ticket prices were increased top-to-bottom in the summer of 2007, along with having Roy and Aldridge, when we drafted Oden. I think or at least hope they drop the prices back down to where they were pre-Oden.
Assuming the sellout streak continues (I have my doubts) then I don't see the prices dropping any time soon, but if things really do start to unravel, then I get the feeling we'll see a slight downward adjustment.
This does not surprise me at all seeing as they have raised ticket prices the last two years during a down economy.
It's just business. They took advantage/capitalized of one of the most dedicated fanbases in all of pro-sports.
