Though I've been very critical to his game in the past I've noticed he has stepped up big time this year in the playoffs. He has been very clutch in the 4th quarter of games against the Suns and Spurs. Hopefully Van Horn does the same but Stackhouse definitely deserves minutes over Daniels because of this. I still get nervous about him doing too many isolation plays but his fearless attitude definitely helps in close games at the end.
Yes, finally. Stack has been clutch a few times when Mavs hace needed him to be in some close games, not buzzer beaters, but to seal a few wins. Lets just hope he shoots well during the Heat series. Just because hes 33 or 34 doesnt mean his game will change, he still has everything in him. Lets get this guy a ring
Stack deserves praise for his play down the stretch, especially against the Suns. He has the ability to score in many different ways, jumpshots, post up, and he is a good slasher. If he has a big Finals series the Heat will have their hands full.
stackhouse has been a huge part of the mavs success, but that's what makes the mavericks so special. they are so deep w/ so many roleplayers that can bring them wins it's depressing. (for the teams who play against them.) you guys have diop who can defend any post player, stackhouse who comes in w/ the points, devin harris who is a spark on or off the bench, terry who gives you that jumpshot, and many others.
He wants a ring, thats why he is giving it his all. I dont get why you guys hate him sooo much he did a great job in the regular season came 2nd to Mike Miller for 6th man and had a huge role in getting us 60 wins, remember boston guys?
Im glad you finally see the light mavsfan. lol we need to get you one of those stack sigs lolbut anyway, yeah he is a good player, sometimes he makes some stupid plays but he makes up for them most of the time. And yes, I remember Boston. What a shot...
I don't think any of us really hate him, but he does take a lot of stupid shots. I don't know, there are some games where he has been absolutely cold, and others where he was definitely the difference maker. I think, in this case, you need to take the bad with the good, because he puts up a significant amount of points, obviously. He will be a huge key in the finals, especially if Howard, Terry, or... anyone else isn't scoring enough.
Right now its the battle of the bench IMO against Miami, he has to Stack has to step up and be big in this series.
The only guy who killed Miami was really Jason Terry, and the Mavericks still won!Stackhouse was just okay (brought toughness, though), Dirk couldn't make a shot, Josh forced lots of shots, but Mavs still win ...
Stackhouse got to the line and that is a key part of his game. Taking perimeter shots is not what makes Stackhouse useful to Dallas but getting to the line is.
He also hit a clutch basket when the Mavs had like a 7 minutes scoring drought. That kept the Heat at bay.
I just want to bumb this thread up.I'm glad mavsfan turned a corner on Stack this past week, because if he hadn't a few of us would be ripping him royally, lol. He's been a great addition, especially the past two games, and has been a big part of the Mavs winning 2 games. It's hard to believe he finished 3rd in the 6th man voting...when both the guys voted above him aren't close to where he is now, or have had the impact he's had on a great team.
Yeah, he was fantastic tonight AGAIN. As I was watching the game, I was thinking the exact same thing as you are Marvinmartian... I think that we think alike mostly. 4/5 from the 3 is so clutch, not to mention one of them being a four point play. I know I'm just being redundant but HOLY CRAP!
