For those of you who watched the game, and saw two injuries, ironically on third downs, what were your thoughts?? Stoops stated he would not resort to faked injuries to stop Oregon - and I believe him. However, two drive slowing injuries, one of which a player sips water while laying on the turf and on another, the player returns the next play. Thoughts??
It's easy to say you won't fake injuries until the Ducks are stomping on you in the second half and your defense can't breath. I thought it was interesting that there weren't any injuries in the first half when they were winning, but as soon as UO started rolling them up, they started having cramps.
Tough question. I, too, noted the injuries started when we really began to crank it up. And I have learned to never trust coincidences. On the other hand, the players seemed to be injured. Maybe they just ratcheted up the acting ability of the players. For example, the first one who had "cramps". One of the staff ran from the sidelines with a water bottle and squirted water in his mouth. That's pure BS as it's the water you drink before the game that better determines cramps and it was cool and rainy- not exactly cramp weather. Seemed scripted to me.
Seemed a little ironic to me too. It's not like I know Stoops personally, but he just doesn't seem like the kind of coach to me, who would allow or tell his players to fake injuries. Hopefully, the suspension of the Cal coach will make teams think twice...doubt it...
I thought the shoulder injury looked legit. That guy really looked like he was in pain. The other one I'm not so sure...
